Huawei P40 Pro Appears In Real-Life Image Without A 'Chin'

The Huawei P40 Pro has just surfaced in a real-life image, and it has no ‘chin’. The company’s upcoming flagship has extremely thin bezels all around, and the company managed to remove its bottom bezel completely.

That bottom bezel is as thin as the top bezel, it’s almost non-existent, and it makes the phone more proportional. Its side bezels are not even visible as the display is curved quite a bit.

The Huawei P40 Pro won’t have a ‘chin’, but it will have a large camera hole

What kind of messes up the bezel-less impression is that pill-shaped camera hole. That hole is placed in the top-left corner of the phone’s display, and it’s difficult not to notice.

There is probably a reason why Huawei opted to include two cameras here, and not one, but one would definitely be less intrusive. Consumers have proven that they don’t care about that as much, so it probably won’t bother the vast majority of them.

This image popped up on Weibo, and it confirms previously-leaked renders, like the one we’ve shared. The Huawei P40 Pro will be made out of metal and glass, though as special edition ceramic variant will also be launched.

This handset will launch alongside the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro PE (ceramic edition), at the end of March. The company will host its very own press conference in Europe.

We still do not know if the Huawei P40’s chin will be as the one on the P40 Pro, but we’ll see. The Huawei P40 flagship series will be fueled by the Kirin 990 SoC, which supports 5G connectivity.

All three phones will include Leica’s lenses, and quite a few cameras on the back. The P40 Pro and P40 Pro PE (if that ends up being its name) will include a more powerful camera setup on the back, though.

The Huawei P40 series will not include Google services

Those two phones will ship with a periscope camera on the back, amongst other sensors. All three devices will ship with Android 10, but without Google services (GMS). Huawei will pre-install its alternative called HMS. This is all happening because of the US ban that was issued, so Huawei cannot pre-installed Google’s services at this point.

The Huawei P40 Pro will probably include 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. It remains to be seen if it will launch in both 4G and 5G variants, or just 5G.

It will be interesting to see what will Huawei be able to do without GMS on its phones. The company has been coping really well thus far, but 2020 will be a real indicator for them. It is possible that the ban will be lifted at some point, though.

Huawei’s exec did recently say that the company will not include GMS on its phones even if that happens, but the company quickly backtracked on that, setting the record straight.
