Realme has joined Sony and announced its new flagship today, the Realme X50 Pro 5G. This is a global launch of this phone, by the way. Realme has shared all the details, including pricing, so read on.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G is a true flagship. The phone is made out of metal and glass, while it comes with a flat display. Its back side is curved, and the device is quite slippery, as you’d expect out of a 2020 flagship.
The Realme X50 Pro 5G features thin bezels, and a pill-shaped display hole
This handset comes with really thin bezels, and a pill-shaped display camera hole. Its bottom bezel is the thickest, and yet it’s only a hair thinner than the rest. The pill-shaped camera hole is placed in the top-left corner of the display, and it hosts two cameras. More on that later.
The device’s corners are rounded, and the same goes for its display corners. There are four cameras included on the back of this phone, and those cameras are vertically-aligned. The camera module does protrude on the back, by the way.
The power / lock button is placed on the right-hand side of the device, while the volume up / down buttons are included on the left.
The phone includes a 90Hz display, Snapdragon 865 SoC, and up to 12GB of RAM
The device features a 6.44-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) Super AMOLED display. That panel comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio, and 90Hz refresh rate (with 180Hz touch sampling). The display is protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass 5.
The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 865 64-bit octa-core processor. The Realme X50 Pro 5G includes 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The 8GB RAM variant comes in both 128GB and 256GB storage flavors. The 12GB RAM model, on the other hand, is available with 256GB of storage.
Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device, along with realme UI. There are two SIM card slots inside of this smartphone. Dolby Atmos audio is supported, while the phone has two speakers (linear ones), and a USB Type-C port.
64W SuperDart fast charging is included in the package, as are four rear-facing cameras
A 4,200mAh battery is included inside of this phone, and it supports 64W SuperDart fast charging. The phone also supports 18W QC/PD charging, and 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge.
The main camera on the back is a 64-megapixel unit. This is Samsung’s GW1 sensor, and it comes with 0.8um pixel size, and an f/1.8 aperture lens. A 12-megapixel telephoto camera is also included, with an f/2.5 aperture lens. This camera supports 5x optical hybrid zoom, and up to 20x hybrid zoom.
An 8-megapixel ultrawide camera is also included. This camera comes with a 119-degree viewing angle, and an f/2.3 aperture lens with a 3cm macro option. A 2-megapixel B&W depth camera is also included (f/2.2 aperture lens).
An 8-megapixel camera sits on the front side of this smartphone (105-degree ultrawide, f/2.2 aperture), in addition to a 32-megapixel wide-angle unit (Sony’s IMX616 sensor). The phone also includes an in-display fingerprint scanner (from Goodix), and Bluetooth 5.1.
The device supports 5G connectivity (SA/NSA), and dual 4G VoLTE. It measures 158.96 x 74.24 x 9.36mm, and weighs 207 grams. Vapor Cooling System is also included, as is Tactile Engine Motor.
The device has been announced in Moss Green, and Rust Red color variants. The 8GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage is priced at €599. The 8GB RAM model with 256GB of storage costs €669, while the 12GB RAM model with 256GB of storage is priced at €749. Please note that these price tags are valid for Spain.
