The 2020 LG K Series Is All About Better Cameras For Less Cash

LG just announced an all new K Series lineup of phones for 2020. There are three phones in the series altogether, and all of them are focused on a better camera experience without having to spend too much to get it.

Typically, phones with the best cameras tend to cost a lot more. More and more now though that is becoming less true. Google did it with its Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. And now LG is doing it with the new K Series phones in 2020.

Included in the new lineup are the LG K61, the LG K51S, and the LG K41S.

LG hasn’t announced prices yet for the 2020 K Series

LG hasn’t announced official prices for any of the phones at this point in time. What it has said though is that the phones won’t break the bank.

Which should mean you won’t spend a lot to get the “advanced features” that LG is boasting that they offer. If you go by previous K models, it should be under $300. Maybe even well under.

As an example the LG K40 which you can buy unlocked on the LG website is currently available for $150. It’s retail price was $180. So that should give you some idea of what to expect on cost for these three new models when they arrive.

LG says they will debut in the Americas in the second quarter of this year. Albeit without mentioning specific dates.

Specs that wow for incredible value

Though LG hasn’t mentioned specific costs yet the phones shouldn’t be too much. And for phones that aren’t breaking the bank, you’re getting some nice value on the features and specs.

All three phones come with a 6.5-inch display. On the K51S and K41S the display will be HD+. On the K61 it’ll be FHD+ so you will get a slightly higher resolution display there.

Both the K61 and the K51S are also using the same chipset, a 2.3GHz octa-core. Meanwhile the K41S is using a 2.0GHz octa-core chipset. As noted though it’s really about the cameras.

This seems to be what LG has focused on the most here with each device. Giving it an improved and worthy camera setup for the price of each respective phone. The K61 is the big boy with a 48-megapixel main camera on the back, as well as an 8-megapixel Super Wide camera, 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor camera.

On the front it carries a 16-megapixel standard sensor. The K51S offers all the same camera sensor types but the values are a bit different. The main camera is 32-megapixels, while the Super Wide is 5-megapixels and the depth sensor is 2-megapixels. The front camera sensor is also 13-megapixels instead of 16.

Lastly, the K41S is using a 13-megapixel main camera while the other three rear sensors are all the same as the ones on the K51S. The front camera sensor though is bumped down to an 8-megapixel sensor.

All three phones come with 4,000mAh capacity batteries, with varying amounts of RAM and storage space. You’re looking at 4GB of RAM on the K61 with 64GB or 128GB options for storage, while the K51S only has a 64GB option and comes with 3GB of RAM instead.

The K41S comes with the same amount of RAM as the K51S, but it halves the storage down to 32GB. All three phones can however support up to 2TB of expandable storage via microSD.
