Ulefone Will Not Attend MWC 2020 Due To Coronavirus Threat

Ulefone has joined a number of other companies by announcing it will be skipping MWC 2020. Ulefone has reached out to announce that it will not attend MWC 2020 due to a threat that is Coronavirus.

The company said that it decided to withdraw from this year’s Mobile World Congress in order to assure the safety of its colleagues, partners, and customers.

Ulefone was looking forward to MWC 2020, but it will not attend due to Coronavirus

Ulefone says that it was looking forward to coming to Barcelona. MWC is probably the most important tradeshow for smartphone OEMs, as it is the largest tradeshow for them.

It is a great platform for companies to share their products and connect with both business partners, and consumers. Ulefone regrets skipping MWC 2020, but it believes it made the right decision.

The company said that it will release a number of new products soon. It will announce their release online, not host a press conference or anything of the sort.

Ulefone also thanked GSMA for doing its best to ensure the safety of all attendees. Ulefone believes GSMA did a great job as far as that is concerned, but it still decided not to attend as a precaution.

The company is looking forward to next year’s Mobile World Congress, as it definitely plans to attend.

The company was expected to announce the world’s first 5G rugged smartphone

As a reminder, Ulefone was expected to show off its first 5G rugged smartphone at MWC 2020. That device is named the Ulefone Armor 8, and it is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC.

Ulefone has joined the likes of LG, Intel, Amazon, Vivo, Sony, and a number of other companies that have withdrawn from MWC 2020.

Some other companies announced that they will scale back their attendance, but have not withdrawn completely. Those companies include ZTE and TCL, who will not host any press conferences, but will have booths at the show.

A rumor was circulating the web yesterday, claiming that GSMA will meet on Friday in order to discuss the cancelation of MWC 2020 altogether.

Well, if HONOR’s Global PR Head is to be believed, that will not happen, or at least it’s not in the plans currently. It seems a bit late for GSMA to completely cancel MWC, but we’ll see what will happen.
