Crunchyroll Games, a division of Crunchyroll where you may or may not watch all of your anime, has just announced a new game based on the anime ‘Overlord.’
This will be a role playing game featuring character progression and turn-based combat where you will command a team of units that are ripped from the show’s cast of popular characters.
This game will only be playable on Android and iOS devices through downloads from their respective app stores. Unlike Naruto x Boruto: Ninja Tribes which is in partnership with Crunchyroll Games, and can be played on PC through your web browser.

Pre-registration is not yet up through Google Play. So to get your name in the hat early for Mass For The Dead, you’ll need to head to the Crunchyroll website.
All you have to do is enter your email address, check the box, and click the send me updates button. Eventually the game will show up on Google Play for pre-registration too. And when it does you should pre-register there as well just in case there are any sorts of special pre-registration rewards.
There will be a collection of different pre-registration rewards available. Including Chaotic Stones which will be used for summoning new characters. Crunchyroll says that the amount of rewards players get will increase once each goal is met. Meaning the more people that pre-register, the better the rewards will be once the game actually launches.
Mass For The Dead is slated to launch in 2020
Crunchyroll expects to launch the game sometime this year. There’s no set release day, but with pre-registration now open the launch may not be that far off.
When pre-registration opened up for Ninja Tribes, it was back at the tail end of February. The game then launched for Android devices on March 16 so it was only a little more than a couple of weeks before it was officially available.
That doesn’t mean the same thing will happen with Mass For The Dead, but it could be a good indicator that the game is just around the corner.
In addition to the announcement and opening up pre-registration, Crunchyroll has released a short trailer that showcases a little bit about the game. It mostly just shows off some of what the gameplay looks like.
