OnePlus 8 Flagship Series Rumored To Launch In Mid-April

The OnePlus 8 series will launch in mid-April, if the latest rumor is to be believed. This information comes from TechRadar India. The site claims that the information has been shared by “a source close to the company”.

The OnePlus 8 series is rumored to arrive in the second week of April

To be more specific, the source claims that the OnePlus 8 series will launch in the second week of April. This information is valid for the phone’s announcement in India, but the global launch will probably occur on the same day.

OnePlus has a tendency of throwing several press events on the same day, in different parts of the world. So, chances are that will happen this time around as well. If not, the global event will come a day, or a couple of days before or after the Indian one.

OnePlus is expected to announce the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro during this event. The OnePlus 8 Lite was also rumored, but chances are that the device won’t become official along with the company’s flagships.

We’re not even sure if the OnePlus 8 Lite will launch at all. If it does, it’s quite possible it will be announced at a later date, but we’re only guessing. OnePlus may throw that announcement out along with announcing its flagships.

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will become OnePlus’ new flagship smartphones, while the ‘Lite’ model will be a mid-ranger. All three phones will be made out of metal and glass, though. The ‘Lite’ is rumored to include a flat display, though, unlike its flagships.

If the OnePlus 8 series does arrive in the second week of April, it will launch about a month sooner than OnePlus usually announces its flagships.

A tipster suggested that the devices will arrive in late March or early April

Earlier launch of OnePlus’ flagships was kind of highlighted by Max Weinbach a while back. He suggested that the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will arrive in late March, or early April. Well, the second week of April is still considered to be early April, kind of.

All three OnePlus 8 handsets have surfaced already, they’ve appeared in CAD-based renders. That basically means that we know what to expect out of these three devices.

They will resemble one another, quite a bit. All three will include a display camera hole in the top-left corner, and will include really thin bezels. The OnePlus 8 Lite will be the smallest handset, while the 8 Pro will be the largest.

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will include 120Hz displays, while the 8 Lite is rumored to sport a 90Hz panel. The two flagships will ship with the Snapdragon 865, while the 8 Lite is expected to include MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000 processor.

Android 10 will come pre-installed on all three devices, along with OxygenOS. The OnePlus 8 Pro is rumored to include wireless charging this time around, and the regular model may end up supporting it as well. We’ll get all the OnePlus 8 series details in April, it seems. More information is expected to surface in the coming weeks, though.
