OnePlus Launcher 4.3.3 Confirms The Verizon OnePlus 8, Adds New Features

The OnePlus Launcher 4.3.3 has started rolling out via the Play Store to the company’s devices, and it kinds of confirms that the Verizon OnePlus 8 is on its way. On top of that, it adds some new features to the table.

It was reported a while back that Verizon is planning to sell OnePlus’ upcoming smartphones, so it was safe to assume that the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be available via the US carrier.

This APK basically confirms that the OnePlus 8 series is coming to Verizon

According to XDA Developers’ analysis of the OnePlus Launcher 4.3.3, the OnePlus 8 is coming to Verizon. That version essentially confirms that there will be a Verizon SKU of the next OnePlus smartphone.

There are multiple pieces of evidence that point in that direction. OnePlus has added a new string for a Verizon folder, says XDA. This suggests that pre-installed apps from Verizon will appear in a separate folder on the home screen.

On top of that, in the ‘SkuHelper’ class, the source spotted a method called ‘isVerizon’. This basically confirms that the Verizon model will run separate software like the existing T-Mobile OnePlus handsets.

On top of all that, a switch statement in the DeviceHelper class lists the ‘OnePlus8VZW’ as one of the cases. This is a clear indication that the Verizon OnePlus 8 is coming.

This version of the OnePlus Launcher also adds some new features to the table. You can now hide icon labels, if you want, while an AMOLED black theme has been added to the OnePlus Shelf as well.

You can now hide home screen icons labels

Regarding the icon labels, if you open the OnePlus Launcher settings, you’ll see a new ‘hide icon labels’ toggle in the main settings menu. Enable this, and you won’t see labels below app icons in the home screen and folders that are on the home page.

Do note that icon labels will still appear in the app drawer, though. You still cannot remove them from the app drawer, this option may come at a later date, who knows.

The OnePlus Shelf now supports an AMOLED black theme. A dark theme has been available for OnePlus Shelf ever since OnePlus Launcher got it, but it supported a dark gray theme. Well, you can now set it to AMOLED black, if you want.

OnePlus Launcher 4.3.3 is now rolling out to all OnePlus smartphones which are running Android 10, with OxygenOS 10 on top of it. That means that it’s coming to the OnePlus 6, 6T, 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and the 7T Pro.

The OnePlus 5 and 5T are expected to get Android 10 as well. That update will arrive later this year, we still do not know when exactly.
