The OnePlus 8 series will become available early for hardcore fans, as the company is planning to host an online pop-up event. Pop-up events are nothing new to OnePlus, though this time around the company has to change things up a bit.
Usually, OnePlus hosts pop-up events in several cities and offers consumers a chance to get their new devices early. Well, due to the current situation in the world, the outbreak, OnePlus has to adapt.
The OnePlus 8 series will be available early thanks to an online pop-up event
Instead of hosting actual physical events, OnePlus has decided to organize one online. The company went to its official forums to tease the upcoming online pop-up event for the OnePlus 8 series.
Do note that this pop-up event will be accessible to European users only. It will start after the company’s keynote on April 14, though that’s pretty much everything OnePlus said about it.
You should be able to get the OnePlus 8 (Pro) early as part of that pop-up event, along with some additional goodies. The company said that you should stay tuned to its social channels, as some exciting teasers are coming.
For those of you who are wondering, the company’s keynote starts at 8AM PST / 5PM CET on April 14. So you’ll need to tune in if you’re interested in this pop-up event.
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will launch during this event. Both devices have been leaking for weeks now, and we do have a ton of information already.
We’ve compiled a OnePlus 8 series preview article, in case you’d like to know everything there is to know about them. We’re actually expecting more information to surface in the coming days.
The company’s two upcoming flagships will look quite similar
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will actually look quite similar. The only difference will be visible on the camera module on the back. The OnePlus 8 Pro will also be a bit larger.
Both devices will be made out of metal and glass, and both will include curved displays. A display camera hole will be placed in the top-left corner on both phones.
The Snapdragon 865 will fuel both of these devices, while both will support 30W Warp Charge fast charging. The ‘Pro’ model will also support 30W wireless charging, and IP68 certification.
Both smartphones will support 5G, that is something that the company’s CEO confirmed quite recently. He also confirmed that LPDDR5 RAM will be included (at least in the ‘Pro’ model, but we’ll see), and also UFS 3.0 flash storage.
