League of Legends: Wild Rift is moving ever closer to a worldwide release on mobile and console, but first Riot wants to get the alpha and beta tests out of the way.
Earlier in May Riot confirmed that it would be conducting its first round of those tests in the Summer. And today it has shared the exact alpha test dates as well as some new gameplay footage that shows off more of the game.
This isn’t the first gameplay footage that has been shown off. Riot had snippets of gameplay spliced into the announcement videos when it unveiled the game last Fall. But this is new gameplay footage and more footage is always a good thing if it shows off stuff that players have yet to see.
Of course the bigger details are the dates for the tests. Because no doubt players who are eagerly awaiting this game’s official launch will want to get their hands on it to try it out for themselves.
The League of Legends: Wild Rift alpha test will begin on June 5
As noted during the announcement about the alpha’s existence, the testing phase (of which this is just the first one) will be limited to players in Brazil and the Philippines.
The Wild Rift alpha test starts in Brazil on June 5. Meanwhile the test will begin in the Philippines on June 6. Both regions will get to test out the game in its early state for a two-week period.
With the tests officially ending on June 26 and June 27. Riot will be selecting players from the pool of people who pre-registered for the game during the Riot 10th Anniversary last year in 2019. Which is when the game’s announcement was made.
Even if you live in one of the supported regions for the alpha, chances are highly unlikely you’ll get a spot if you didn’t pre-register back then. Still, it might be worth a shot.
More tests will pop up in other regions later in the year
Even if you don’t get into this first test, fear not. Riot will be doing more tests later in the year and in other regions.
The company has confirmed this on the official Wild Rift Twitter account. Stating that it wanted to keep things very small to begin with.
So far though Riot hasn’t said anything about when or where the next tests will be. So you’ll want to keep an eye out for any new messages about separate tests on its social channels.
We’re heading to our first round of global testing in Brazil and the Philippines! A small number of pre-registered players on Android phones will be randomly selected for a Wild Rift alpha test between June 5 – June 26 in BR / June 6 – June 27 in PH.
