LG Stylo 6 Launching Soon On Boost Mobile, Key Specs Surface

LG‘s upcoming stylus pen-wielding smartphone, the LG Stylo 6, will be making its commercial debut soon. Boost Mobile is apparently preparing for the handset’s launch in the US and has handed out some promotional materials to its employees.

The telecom company’s promo materials talk about the device’s selling points, which are basically its key specifications. The successor to last year’s LG Stylo 5, the Stylo 6 brings several significant improvements to the table.

The new stylus pen-wielding mid-range smartphone features a huge 6.8-inch Full HD+ display, a big jump from 6.2-inch on last year’s model. And thanks to those tiny bezels and waterdrop camera notch, this device likely keeps the overall dimensions in check as well.

As we saw in these first-look images last week, the LG Stylo 6 gets a horizontally-arranged triple camera setup with an LED flash on the back. The setup includes a 13-megapixel primary camera, a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. This is again a huge upgrade from the single 13-megapixel shooter on the Stylo 5.

The front camera is also a 13-megapixel shooter. LG promises “stunning detail” in images thanks to its AI Cam technology.

This handset comes with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage capacity. A 4,000mAh battery fuels this phone and it supports fast charging via a USB Type-C port. Other key features include a dedicated Google Assistant button, a rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint sensor, 3D surround sound and stereo speakers, and stylus pen support.

LG Stylo 6 to launch on Boost Mobile soon

Boost Mobile last week exclusively launched LG’s new entry-level smartphone, the $89.99-priced LG K51, in the US. The telecom company is now gearing up to bring another affordable LG smartphone for its customers.

The LG Stylo 6 is likely to be a Boost Mobile-exclusive at launch. However, just like the Stylo 5, which was initially exclusive to Cricket Wireless but later made available for Boost Mobile, Sprint, Metro, T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T customers as well, the new handset should also launch on other networks down the line.

The stylus pen is the USP of LG’s Stylo series. The South Korean company is undercutting the competition by bringing the efficiency and comfort of a stylus pen at a highly affordable price. The retail price for the LG Stylo 6 is yet unknown, but it is expected to be available under $250. The LG Stylo 5 costed $229.99 at launch.

Motorola also recently launched a stylus pen-wielding mid-range smartphone. The Moto G Stylus costs $299.99 and packs slightly better specs than the LG Stylo 6. It’ll be interesting to see how these two smartphones fare in the market.
