The LG Velvet has just appeared in a hands-on video, and images, along with its specs. This phone will officially be announced on May 7, even though LG kind of announced it already.
Sounds confusing? Well, it is. The company already published the phone’s renders and specifications via an official press release. Not all details were revealed, of course, but it was basically an announcement of the phone.
Truth be said, that information has been published by LG Korea, not LG Global. So, we’re waiting for the May 7 announcement to get all the necessary information.
As we wait for that to happen, the device surfaced in Korea. The phone has appeared in Korea, as it seems to be on display in one of the company’s stores.
The LG Velvet appears in a long hands-on video
The LG Velvet surfaced in a hands-on video, which has a duration of over 4 minutes. This video gives us a really good look at the LG Velvet, the best thus far. Some pictures also surfaced, including the phone’s spec sheet.
As you can see in the provided video, the phone is made out of metal and glass. It includes rather thin bezels, though its top and bottom bezels are a tad bit thicker than the rest of them.
The device includes a curved display, and a tiny dewdrop display notch. There are three cameras included on the back of the device, in the company’s new, so-called Raindrop camera design.
The back of the device is curved, and the phone is shown in several color variants here. You can check out those color variants either via the video, or via the included images which have been taken from that video.
Now, in terms of specs, the LG Velvet features a 6.8-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) OLED display. We’re looking at a 20.5:9 aspect ratio here. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 765G 64-bit octa-core processor, so, it supports 5G.
The phone supports wireless charging
The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and that storage is expandable up to 2TB it seems, not 1 as it was initially reported. The phone is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. A 4,300mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it supports 10W wireless charging. We’re still not sure how fast is the phone’s wired charging, though.
On the back of this device, you’ll find 48, 8, and 5-megapixel cameras. The 8-megapixel unit is an ultrawide camera, while the 5-megapixel one is a depth sensor. So, this phone doesn’t have a dedicated telephoto camera.
The phone does include a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it will support LG Dual Screen and Stylus Pen accessories from the company. A 16-megapixel camera sits on the front side of the device. The phone measures 167.2 x 74.1 x 7.9mm, and weighs 180 grams.
