POCO F2 Pro Is Official With SD865 SoC, 4,700mAh Battery & More

POCO has just announced its new flagship handset, the POCO F2 Pro. The POCO F2 Pro is a direct successor to the POCO F1 / Pocophone F1 that launched back in 2018.

It took the company almost two years to come up with a successor, and it’s finally here. The POCO F2 Pro is essentially a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The POCO F2 Pro is made out of metal and glass this time around, it does not come with a polycarbonate back. Unlike its predecessor, it does not include a display notch either. In fact, this phone does not come with a display camera hole either.

The POCO F2 Pro sports a pop-up selfie camera, which allowed the company to offer a truly full-screen smartphone. Its bezels are minimal, and its back is curved. The phone’s display is flat, though.

The POCO F2 Pro includes four rear cameras, and a large AMOLED display

The POCO F2 Pro features four cameras on the back, which are a part of a round camera module. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also included in the package, and optical one.

The device features a 6.67-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) AMOLED display with HDR10+ support. Unfortunately, this is a 60Hz panel, but that is one of the sacrifices that needed to be made for its price to be so affordable.

The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 865 64-bit octa-core processor, the most powerful SoC Qualcomm has to offer. That chip comes with the Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G connectivity.

The POCO F2 Pro includes 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone also comes with two nano SIM card slots, while Android 10 comes pre-installed. On top of it, you’ll find Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 skin.

You’ll be glad to hear that a 3.5mm headphone jack is included on this phone. Bluetooth 5.1 is also a part of the package, as is a Type-C USB port. An NFC chip can also be found inside of this smartphone.

A 4,700mAh battery is also included, along with 33W fast charging

A 4,700mAh battery powers this phone, while the device supports 33W fast wired charging. Wireless charging is not supported here, in case you were wondering. The phone includes an IR sensor at the top, while it is IP53 certified, it’s both water and dust resistant.

A 64-megapixel main camera (Sony’s IMX686 sensor, 0.8um pixel size, f/1.69 aperture, 7P lens, OIS) sits on the back. That camera is backed by a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit (123-degree FoV), and an 5-megapixel macro camera (3cm-7cm macro). A 2-megapixel depth camera (1.75um pixel size) is also included on the back.

A 20-megapixel camera can be found on the front side of the device, when not hidden inside the phone. The device offers hi-res audio, and it comes with a 1216 speaker. The POCO F2 Pro will be available for purchase in Cyber Gray, Electric Purple, Neon Blue, and Phantom White color options.

The phone’s 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at €499, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs €599. The phone will be available starting today via GearBest and AliExpress, and will soon get listed on the POCO.net as well.
