The ‘OnePlus Nord’ has been all over the news lately, and Carl Pei has kind of confirmed that branding. The company’s co-founder was spotted in an image, holding a piece of promotional material with the ‘Nord’ branding on it.
This is a leaked image, but Carl Pei is clearly touting ‘OnePlus Nord’ branding in it
You can see that image below this paragraph. As you can see, the word ‘Nord’ is clearly visible, even though the ‘OnePlus’ part is missing. Mr. Pei is in that image as well.
Next to him, you’ll spot two girls holding smartphones. The image is too blurry to see what’s that all about, but it’s possible those are some other OnePlus phones. It doesn’t seem to be the same phone, so… it’s probably not the OnePlus Nord.
Carl Pei is also holding a piece of promotional material on which it says ‘Here’s to the first 100’, and there’s also a letter below it. Unfortunately, the image is too blurry for us to see what the writing says.
This is clearly a completely new series of devices that OnePlus is getting ready to launch, the company confirmed that much. We now know that it will be called ‘Nord’, and it will start with a smartphone.
That device will be called the ‘OnePlus Nord’ or ‘Nord by OnePlus’, as rumors have been suggesting. The device was initially rumored to be called the OnePlus 8 Lite, and then the OnePlus Z.
In any case, this will be a mid-range smartphone, it seems. It is expected to arrive next month, in July. July 10 is the rumored launch date for the phone, but OnePlus still has to confirm that info.
A lot of information leaked when it comes to this
A ton of information leaked when it comes to this device. The phone will probably be made out of metal and glass. It will include a centered display camera hole on the front, and a flat display.
Four cameras will be placed on the back of the device, along with the company’s branding. We’re expecting the device to sport a fullHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
The Snapdragon 765G 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel that device, and it will support 5G connectivity. Android 10 will come pre-installed, along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS.
The OnePlus Nord will become a spiritual successor to the OnePlus X, kind of. The OnePlus X is technically the only mid-range phone the company ever released.
The ‘Nord’ is expected to feature a 6.4 or 6.5-inch display, as per rumors, and it will probably offer 30W fast wired charging. Wireless charging probably won’t be included.
