The first live images of the Galaxy Watch 3 have surfaced online. The images come courtesy of South Korea’s certification authority NRRA (National Radio Research Agency). The regulatory agency recently certified the Galaxy Watch 3 and posted its images on its website.
The agency has certified both the 41mm (SM-R850) and 45mm (SM-R840) variants of the Galaxy Watch 3. These are the Wi-Fi only variants of the watch. Samsung also has LTE models of the watch in the works, bearing model numbers SM-855 and SM-845 for the two size variants, respectively. These watches were certified by the FCC last month.
Galaxy Watch 3 live images surface
The images on NRRA’s website confirm the presence of a physical rotating bezel on the upcoming Samsung smartwatch. This feature was missing from the company’s last two Galaxy Watch models, the Galaxy Watch Active and the Watch Active 2.
The bezel on the new watch is seemingly thinner as compared to the original Galaxy Watch from 2018.
This was expected though, as a leak earlier this week revealed that the new watch would feature bigger screens despite having a relatively smaller case. And reducing the bezel size is the only possible way Samsung could do that.
As you can see in the live images below, the rotating bezel on the 41mm (SM-R850) Galaxy Watch 3 has a smooth finish, while the 45mm (SM-R840) variant has a toothed bezel, just like its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch. There are also minute markings all around the watch face of the new watches.
The upcoming Samsung smartwatch also has two physical buttons on the right side. They are positioned similar to earlier Galaxy Watch models.
However, Samsung has changed their shapes this time around. The physical buttons on the Galaxy Watch three are round-shaped and protrude more out of the watch case. Older Galaxy watches feature flat buttons.
Galaxy Watch 3 might launch in July
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen several leaks and rumors about the Galaxy Watch 3. All this suggests an imminent launch, and there’s a possibility that the launch would happen in July.
Although Samsung has a big event tentatively scheduled for sometime in August, reports are that the Galaxy Watch 3 would arrive earlier.
The smartwatch could launch in July alongside a pair of new wireless earbuds, likely the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live, or whatever it’d be called.
The Unpacked event in August, possibly on August 5, meanwhile, will see Samsung launch the Galaxy Note 20 series. The Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Fold 2, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G are also expected to arrive alongside the new flagship smartphones.
