Google Camera 7.5 To Add Motion Blur, Audio Zoom, Flash Intensity To Pixel Phones

Google will launch the Google Pixel 4a smartphone somewhere this summer. There are rumors that Google might bring two models of Pixel 4a, i.e. a 4G and 5G variant. However, as per 9to5Google, some new features are incoming for next-gen Pixel phones. Notably, the Google Camera 7.5 app will bring features like motion blur, audio zoom, the flash intensity. Besides, it is set to arrive on Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G.

Google Camera v7.5, is now available for devices running Android 11 Beta update. And it shows that these new features are ready to be shipped with upcoming Pixel phones. A new line of code has been detected by 9to5Google in the APK teardown that specifically mentions three Pixel phones, i.e. Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G), and Pixel 5.

Notably, in an APK Insight post, when the Google Camera v7.5 app was de-compiled, some strings shed some light on new features that Google is already done with. However, note that Google may or may not ship these features that have been spotted in the Google Camera app.

Google Camera v7.5 to come with Motion Blur, Audio Zoom, and Flash Intesity features

In the teardown post, a new code name “Lasagna” is included, which is expected to be a placeholder name for the Motion Blur mode. Moreover, this feature will be stacked alongside other Google Camera modes like Night Sight, Time Lapse, and Photo Sphere.

As far as motion blur mode is concerned, we expect it to bring broken effects to moving objects. Just like we have seen with DSLR cameras producing high-quality images of moving objects.

Audio Zoom is another feature that has made its way to quite a few phones this year. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy 20 Ultra come equip with the Audio Zoom feature. Basically, this allows the users to focus the microphone of the device in a particular direction to capture audio when recoding a zoomed video.

<string name=”pref_audio_zoom_summary”>Boost the sound where the user is zooming in on.</string>

The latest APK teardown suggests that we might soon see the Audio Zoom feature in the upcoming Pixel phones. However, it is not clear whether this feature will be available for older generation Pixels or not.

Flash Intensity is something that you could do on your phone via third-party apps. But while taking an image or video with the flash on, there was no option to set the flash intensity. Fortunately, the new string in the Google Camera v7.5 app shows that Google will provide options to adjust flash intensity.

We would advise our readers to take this piece of information with a pinch of salt, as these features are yet to be made official by Google itself and are subject to change.
