OnePlus Nord May Surprise Us With Two Different SoC Options

The OnePlus Nord may yet surprise us, as it may arrive in two different SoC variants. OnePlus and Qualcomm already confirmed that the phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 765G.

That part we do know. What we did not expect, is the second SoC variant of the OnePlus Nord. Now, OnePlus did not confirm that, or anything of the sort, but that variant did surface in benchmarks.

The OnePlus ‘BE2028’ surfaced on Geekbench, and this phone doesn’t come with the Snapdragon 765G. Now, its motherboard is still listed as ‘lito’, like the one on the Snapdragon 765G, but its clock speed is considerably lower.

This phone has a based CPU clock of 1.71GHz, and slowly lower multi-core test on Geekbench. On top of that, this variant of the device includes 6GB of RAM, not 12GB as the one tested earlier.

The OnePlus AC2003 comes with a CPU clock speed of 1.8GHz, and it includes 12GB of RAM. In any case, this more affordable unit could pack in the Snapdragon 690.

The more affordable OnePlus Nord variant may include the Snapdragon 690 SoC

Geekbench did not confirm that, but the Snapdragon 690 is quite a new SoC, and the clock speed fits. Now, this phone may not launch at all, there is always that option.

It is possible that the OnePlus ‘BE2028’ is the variant of the phone tested before the Snapdragon 765G model. If that is the case, then this listing is a bit odd, because it surfaced on July 11.

Something odd is happening here, that’s for sure. This may also be a phone that OnePlus is planning to launch later on, but… that also doesn’t make a lot of sense. The company is not expected to launch any more mid-rangers this year.

OnePlus will hopefully make sense of this during the OnePlus Nord announcement. Speaking of which, the device will become official on July 21. That much has been confirmed by the company.

The OnePlus Nord will be made out of metal and glass, and it will include a pill-shaped display camera hole. The phone will include a fullHD+ flat display with 90Hz refresh rate.

On the back, you can expect to get four cameras, while an in-display fingerprint scanner is also expected. This phone will feature a large battery, and it will include 30W fast wired charging.

Wireless charging won’t be a part of the package, most probably. The device will also not include IP certification for water and dust resistance. Android 10 will come pre-installed, though.
