OnePlus Nord Promised To Include A "Flagship-Level Camera"

According to a new piece of official information, the OnePlus Nord will include a “flagship-level camera”. This information comes from Carl Pei himself, the company’s co-founder.

This is something Mr. Pei promised in an interview with Tech Radar. The company’s co-founder confirmed that the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 765G. That’s not all, though.

The OnePlus Nord will feature a flagship-level camera, co-founder claims

As you can see, he also said that the OnePlus Nord will include a flagship-level camera. Mr. Pei said that the camera is probably the most used feature of a smartphone. So, he admits that the company had to come up with a great camera system in order for this phone to be great.

The company’s co-founder did not say what camera setup to expect exactly, of course. A 64-megapixel camera is rumored to be included as the phone’s main camera, though. We initially expected a 48-megapixel main camera.

In any case, the company’s co-founder continued to boast about the camera setup. He said that the OnePlus Nord will bring a flagship-level camera to the mid-range price range.

During this interview, he also said that the OnePlus Nord “boils down to three things”. The first is the camera, the second is user experience, and the third is OnePlus quality. The company wants to hit the sweet spot on all three of those.

Carl Pei admitted that software optimization is just as important as the hardware. He said that it’s really important how the company optimizes its software, the animations, as it has to make sure everything “flows really seamlessly”.

He also said that the OnePlus Nord had to deliver in the design department. The company wanted to create a phone that both looks and feels like a flagship.

The phone will launch later this month

This handset will become official sometime this month. It was expected to arrive on July 10, but it may launch a bit later than that, around July 15. The company still has to confirm the exact date.

The OnePlus Nord will become a spiritual successor to the OnePlus X which launched a long time ago. OnePlus consumers have been asking for a more affordable phone, and the OnePlus Nord is supposed to deliver in that regard.

The device will probably be made out of metal and glass. It is expected to feature two cameras on the front, and four on the back. An in-display fingerprint scanner will probably also be included.

The device will support fast wired charging, while wireless charging probably won’t be included. Android 10 will come pre-installed on the device, along with the company’s OxygenOS.
