Samsung is preparing for its big Unpacked event next month, where we are expecting to see a boat load of new devices. One of those new devices is the Galaxy Note 20 Fan Edition, and some of the specs have just leaked out.
Tipster Ice Universe posted some of the specs of the Galaxy Note 20 Fan Edition on Twitter, and it’s actually shaping up to be a pretty impressive “lite” smartphone. This is also likely going to be the successor to the Galaxy S10 Lite.
It’ll have a 120Hz display, with hole punch
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy Note 20 Fan Edition is going to sport a 120Hz display and it’s also going to have a hole punch display for the camera. The camera is said to be about 3.3mm in diameter, which makes it pretty small.
Though, the way it was mentioned in the tweet, many might have though it was a typo and meant to specify a headphone jack. But that is very unlikely to be coming back.
Ice Universe also mentioned that it’s going to be IP68 certified. So that it will be dust and water proof. Users will be able to take it to the pool, if those ever open back up.
And of course, it’s going to run on the Snapdragon 865 chipset. That comes as no surprise at all. Though what might be a surprise is the Q4 release. That means that it would be coming October 1, or later. Seeing as the fourth quarter starts officially on October 1. But that also lends more credence to the recent rumors that Samsung would be releasing a new phone every month, starting with the Galaxy Note 20 at Unpacked.
Galaxy Note 20 Fan Edition “price nice”
Another tidbit of the tweet that has a lot of people interested, is about the price. Ice Universe just stated that “price nice”. We’re assuming that it’s going to be a cheaper smartphone than the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20+ (or Ultra). But just how cheap is the question.
The Galaxy Note 10 was $949 last year, and we’re expecting the Galaxy Note 20 to jump in price.
However, if this is truly a “lite” version of the Galaxy Note 20, then we should see it lower. It could possibly be closer to $700-$800. Almost in line with what the Galaxy S10e was. A phone that many are begging Samsung to re-release, because it was such a good device.
