A while back it was reported that Twitter is reportedly exploring the idea of a new subscription-based model. It also suggested that this subscription model of Twitter will reportedly go under testing later this year. However, a new report suggests otherwise. Notably, as per reporter Andrew Roth on Twitter, the social media giant has already started conducting surveys. Users are asked what features they would want from a paid subscription-based model for Twitter. Reportedly, Twitter is testing waters on a small bunch of users.
Here is what Andrew Roth tweeted, “After CEO Jack Dorsey confirmed Twitter is exploring a subscription model, the company is conducting user surveys on what type of features they’d like to see in such a service.Undo send, special badges for profiles, and advanced analytics are among the features being considered.”
Andrew Roth also shared screenshots of surveys that are being sent out to the users. The various features include undo tweet immediately after it is sent (for only 30 seconds), and feature for posting high-quality videos. Besides, custom fonts and themes, advanced analytics, custom profile badges are among the potential features of the paid model.

Here is the complete list of the possible features:
- Undo send: A 30 seconds window for you to recall/withdraw a Tweet before anyone can see it.
- Custom Colors: In addition to night mode, you could change the fonts and theme color of Twitter on your phone and computer. Background color, links, mentions, hashtags, and icons would appear in whatever color you choose.
- Video Publishing: You could publish videos up to 5x longer than current default, with a much higher maximum resolution (8192 x 8192)
- Advanced analytics: Additional insights, including the best time to post and best length, audience demographics, etc.
- Badges: You get a badge(s) on your profile that links you to businesses you own or work for (Example: A journalist can have a badge showing the magazines they write for.

Meanwhile, Twitter is also asking its users whether they would consider paying an option to see lesser ads. Moreover, whether they want a filter for the kind of ads they wish to see. Twitter is also surveying about what users think if going with the subscription-based model would hurt Twitter’s open-platform based background.
