Vivo Watch Is On Its Way, Coming Soon

After the OPPO Watch launch in March this year, Vivo became the only major smartphone manufacturer without a smartwatch in its portfolio. Not anymore, as the company’s Vivo Watch just got listed on the Bluetooth certification website.

The leaks about the Vivo Watch started in February this year when the company trademarked the name at the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). Later, the Chinese 3C website also revealed the model numbers as WA2056 and WA2052.

Now, the WA2056 variant has received a Bluetooth certification confirming Bluetooth 5.0 support. Another thing worth noting is that it will only support 5W charging. Just like any other smartwatch, the Vivo Watch is also expected to come in two different sizes. Even the two different model numbers also hint at the same thing.

As per the design patent, the Vivo Watch looks more like a traditional watch featuring a circular dial. On the right are the two physical buttons. While the OPPO Watch looks like an Apple Watch copycat, the Vivo Watch could be inspired by Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Expected to come with a circular display

From the images, the Vivo smartwatch is expected to feature a heart-rate sensor and user-replaceable straps. Looking at the competition, Vivo might also bring the electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring feature. The frame of the dial comes engraved with the seconds marking.

As of now, there is no other information available about the upcoming Vivo Watch. However, the recent certifications suggest the launch could happen very soon. Obviously, the Vivo Watch will be making its debut first in China.

With the certifications in Europe and India, it should be coming to the overseas markets as well. In terms of OS, the Vivo Watch should be running on a proprietary OS.

Even for the global version, we don’t think the company will be using Wear OS by Google. Without Wear OS, the Vivo Watch will be missing out on several smart features. After ditching Wear OS by Google, previously Android Wear, Huawei smartwatches missed several smart features and support for thousands of apps.

We have to wait for the next big launch from Vivo to catch a glimpse of its first-ever smartwatch. As per the recent leaks, Vivo will be launching the new Vivo X50 series in India on July 16th.
