Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Arrives In November

Activision officially revealed Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War this morning. But not in the way you might think.

If you haven’t been following the details on the next game in the Call Of Duty franchise, then you may have missed how Black Ops Cold War was to be revealed.

Typically Activision puts out a trailer. Just like any other game company. But not this time. This morning it pushed out its first live event in Warzone, the free, battle royale-style mode that’s part of Modern Warfare.

In it, players had to take on tasks inside of a new, never before seen match type, which eventually led to the reveal of the official trailer for the upcoming game. The trailer also revealed the release date.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives on November 13

Activision will officially release the next game in its highly popular Call Of Duty franchise on November 13.

It will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X. The game is already available for pre-order too. Pre-orders for PS4 and PS5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X, can be done through the respective digital stores of those consoles.

They should eventually be available on Amazon as well for those that want to place a pre-order for physical editions of the game. PS4 and Xbox One versions, both digital and physical, will also be available upgrade to PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game for a small fee.

Meaning players can take their experience with them to the next generation console. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game can’t actually be pre-ordered yet though. So presumably those will pop up after the consoles launch. If you’re pre-ordering on PC, you can pick it up through the battle.net website, or via the battle.net launcher.

If you pre-order the game, you also get immediate access to the Woods Operator pack, and early access to the upcoming open beta.

Activision will reveal the multiplayer trailer on September 9

You can watch the official reveal trailer for the Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign in the video above. The game will be a direct sequel to the original Black Ops, and will be set in the 1980s.

When the game launches in November, it will also launch with a multiplayer mode. Activision hasn’t shown much multiplayer footage for the game yet, though there is a tiny snippet of it at the end of the official trailer.

A proper multiplayer trailer will be revealed on September 9. Which is just a couple of weeks away. If you tend to play Call Of Duty games more for the multiplayer, make sure not to miss the reveal of coming up, as it looks exciting. Or, as exciting as it could from the few seconds shown in the campaign trailer.

Black Ops Cold War will also have a Zombies mode (though it doesn’t seem to be available at launch), and it’ll support Warzone. Activision also says it will build onto that experience. Which likely means at least one new map.
