Here's When You Can Play Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the more highly anticipated titles releasing this year, and you’ll be able to play it on Stadia sooner than you think.

Originally positioned last year as being a title coming in 2019, that date was altered to reflect a more accurate time frame for development. Today though, developers Larian Studios held a livestream where they showed off more of the game and talked about early access.

Early access in fact is just around the corner. So if you’ve been waiting to play Baldur’s Gate 3, you will have your chance very soon. Keep in mind this is early access. So development will still be ongoing. And you won’t have access to a full game just yet.

Nevertheless, you’ll be able to play it before others, and that’s a huge benefit for anyone who’s been following the game with anticipation.

You can play Baldur’s Gate 3 in early access starting next month

Stadia is one of the platforms where Baldur’s Gate 3 will be landing. Alongside PC. And both will be getting early access starting next month.

The game will open up for players on September 30 to be more specific. So you still have about a month and a half before you can dive into the gameplay.

Once the game goes live, Larian has laid out a portion of the content that will be available from the get-go. Meanwhile some content will be unlocking at a later time down the road as the game continues through its development.

At launch of the early access period, players will be able to choose from five different origin characters. This includes Astarion who’s an Elf/Vampire Rogue, Gale, a Human Wizard, Lae’zel, a Githyanki Warrior, Shadowheart, a Half-Elf Cleric, and Wyll , a Human Warlock.

Closer to the September 30 launch date, Larian will also announce classes and races for the game.

The September 30 launch date is the goal, but not a guarantee

As always with releases, Baldur’s Gate 3 developers are shooting for a September 30 launch date.

That being said, there’s a chance it could be delayed. Larian Studios notes that there “is still a lot to be done before players can dive into the game on Stadia and PC.” Which means the studio could always miss the launch window if something comes up.

Players will also only have access to Act 1 at launch. Though it should still provide players with plenty of content to sink their teeth into.
