New OnePlus Smartphone Spotted With 18W Fast Charging Support

OnePlus has made a comeback to the mid-range segment with the OnePlus Nord 5G. Now, the company is reportedly working on an even more affordable smartphone. According to MySmartPrice, a new OnePlus smartphone was recently certified by the TUV Rheinland website with 18W fast charging support.

Based on the rumors, OnePlus is working on not one but two budget smartphones codenamed as Billie. Like the other OnePlus smartphones launched in 2020, these two upcoming smartphones will also support 5G connectivity.

Upcoming budget OnePlus might support only 18W fast charging

As per the certification website, the listed OnePlus smartphone will be coming with a maximum of 18W (9V/2A) fast charging support. Apart from the power supply rating, there is no other information mentioned in the website listing. In comparison, the recently launched OnePlus Nord supports Warp Charge 30T fast charging with 30W (5V/6A) output.

The OnePlus Nord 5G powered Snapdragon 765G 5G Mobile Platform starts at €399 and Rs 24,999 in Europe and India respectively. On the other hand, the Realme 6 priced at €229 also comes with the same 30W fast charging support.

Since we don’t expect these new OnePlus phones to cost below €200, there is still a chance that the company might able to include Warp Charge 30T fast charging technology. Even the flagship OnePlus 8 smartphones also limited to 30W fast charging.

Two new Nord 5G smartphones reportedly in the works

As none of this comes from official sources, it is advised to take the information with a pinch of salt. For the leaked OnePlus “Bille” smartphones, the company might opt for the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 5G Mobile Platform. This is the first-ever 5G chipset under the Snapdragon 6-series.

Even references to SM6350 in the APK of settings in OxygenOS 10.5 were found. Moreover, the SM6350 is the part number for the Snapdragon 690 5G SoC. It comes coupled with Kryo 560 CPU and Adreno 619L GPU.

Also, these new devices will make their debut under the new Nord series. The company has already confirmed to continue the Nord as a series for launching the budget OnePlus smartphones. Last month, a mysterious OnePlus smartphone featuring Snapdragon 690 listed on the benchmarking website Geekbench.

It comes with model number BE2028 and runs on Android 10. The device has scored 609 on single-core and 1728 on multi-core tests. Furthermore, OnePlus CEO has already confirmed to launch a Nord-branded smartphone in the US in 2020. It might not be the same OnePlus Nord 5G that is now available in India and Europe.
