Today, Pandora has announced that users of Alexa enabled devices can enjoy Pandora Podcasts by simply using their voice commands. Pandora is an American music streaming service that also has a huge library of podcasts.
Right from top shows like This American Life, TED Talks Daily, Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, to exclusive podcasts from Sway, Hoda Kotb, and Andy Cohen, Pandora has it all.
Moreover, Alexa users can now also enjoy the forthcoming exclusive scripted podcasts from Marvel. These podcasts will have iconic characters like Wolverine, Black Widows, and much more.
Besides this, Pandora also specializes in genres like True Crime, News, Sports, Music, Comedy, Kids, Lifestyle & Health, and much more. And with today’s announcement, Alexa enabled devices, for example, Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show are just a voice command away from playing podcasts from Pandora.
Users have to simply say commands like “Alexa, play the Sway’s Interviews podcast on Pandora,” to play podcasts from their favorite genre.
Users can request a specific episode or episode by topic using Pandora skill on Alexa
You can also make use of common commands to access any of the podcasts from Pandora’s library. Alexa users can either request a specific episode or a topic of that particular episode. On top of that, users will also be able to use playback controls, hands-free. You can use commands like “Alexa, play the next episode,” or “Alexa, skip ahead two minutes.”
Not only this, as per the announcement, users can also set Pandora as a default podcast player on Alexa. This will enable the users to use more generic commands like “Alexa, play the Sway’s Interviews podcast,” to directly play the specific podcast from Pandora. In order to set Pandora as your default podcast player on any Alexa enabled devices, follow the below steps.
Open the Alexa app on your phone. From there, head over to Menu then Settings then Music & Podcasts. Then tap on Default Services. Now under Podcasts, select Pandora.
Meanwhile, users who have already linked their Pandora accounts to Alexa can use Alexa to start listening to podcasts without the need for relinking.
Users should go ahead and download the latest version of the Alexa app available on Android or iOS.
