Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 20 series yesterday, and while it does have some great colors, it is saving the best for its homeland of South Korea.
The Galaxy Note 20 is available in Mystic Red, Mystic Blue and Mystic Pink in South Korea. And none of those colors will be available outside of South Korea, unfortunately.
The Mystic Blue and Red colors are really great looking. And we’re a bit surprise that the Mystic Blue wasn’t a Best Buy exclusive, like the blue S20 series was earlier this year.
South Korea exclusive colors is nothing new for Samsung
Samsung usually gives its homeland some exclusive colors, or an exclusive variant of its brand new phone. So this is nothing new. But it does suck for those that were wanting something other than the colors available worldwide.
While the Mystic Bronze is pretty slick, just imagine how great a Mystic Red Galaxy Note 20 would have looked.
Luckily, there’s nothing majorly different between these that are available in South Korea and what the rest of the world is getting. The only real difference here is the paint job. And they still sport that frosted feeling, that all of Samsung’s newer smartphones have.
On top of the Galaxy Note 20 coming in these colors, the Galaxy Buds Live also come in the Mystic Red color. Which looks slick. Though I’d definitely like to see a Mystic Blue color of the Galaxy Buds Live. That would be really sweet to have.
Still the same Galaxy Note 20
It’s the same Galaxy Note 20 (not Note 20 Ultra) that we are seeing here in the US.
With a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED 60Hz display, the Snapdragon 865+ chipset with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There’s no differences there. Nor the battery, which is still 4300mAh.
And of course, the backplate is still polycarbonate (read: plastic). So we’re not missing out on anything in the West, other than the different color.
Now it is possible that Samsung could bring these new colors to the US and other major markets later on down the road. When it is looking to find a way to boost sales. But as for now, these are exclusive to Korea. And it’s not a good idea to try and import them to the US, since they will not work on US networks. That is because they do not have the proper band support, particularly for 5G, but also for 4G LTE.
