By now, it’s no surprise that Samsung is announcing new advancements and developments in the artificial intelligence segment. The company is not involved in the AI-powered chatbots segment. However, it is among the pioneers of heavy implementation of AI-powered features in mobile devices and even smart home appliances. Now, Samsung and Intel have signed an agreement regarding optimized image technology for Intel chips in AI PCs.
Intel-powered AI PCs to get image enhancement technologies optimized by Samsung Display
Samsung, through its Samsung Display division, will work together with Intel to offer high-quality image experiences that are exclusive to Intel hardware. The South Korean giant has extensive experience in the segment. It is not for nothing that the company is the leading manufacturer of OLED displays in the world. The firm has also developed exclusive image enhancement solutions. So, they could customize some of these technologies for Intel chips.
The new Galaxy S25 series integrates a display technology called “ProScaler.” This AI-powered development helps improve image quality in real time without impacting power consumption. This is just one example of the firm’s capabilities in the display segment. The agreement primarily targets the “next-gen AI PC market.”
Intel secures competitive advantage over Apple and Qualcomm
AI PCs are those with hardware optimized to offer an ideal experience with AI-powered features. Microsoft gives the “Copilot+” seal to Windows PCs whose hardware allows the company’s advanced AI experiences to run. Typically, these types of products require a powerful NPU to receive Microsoft’s “approval” in the form of the Copilot+ seal.
“Through solid cooperation with Intel, which is creating a new future for personal computing, we will accelerate innovation in next-generation display technology,” said Lee Ho-joong, executive vice president at Samsung Display and head of the Small and Medium Product Planning Team. “We will lead the growth of the next-generation AI PC market,” he added.
David Feng, vice president of the Client Computing Group and general manager of Client Segments at Intel, also expressed his satisfaction with the agreement. “This is an exciting time for both Intel and Samsung Display as we collaborate on groundbreaking visual technologies and enhancements optimized for Intel processors,” he said. “Through our partnership and expertise, Intel and Samsung Display will steer the PC industry toward the next generation of AI PC experiences,” Feng added.
