A well-known tipster, Max Weinbach, managed to dig up some interesting Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 images. In the gallery down below, you’ll be able to see three different variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, with three different hinge colors.
Three out of four Galaxy Z Fold 2 hinge colors are shown in these images
Do note that four hinge colors will be available in total, so these are not all of them, but the vast majority. You can see a dark gray (not its official name) Galaxy Z Fold 2 with orange, silver, and gold hinge colors.
We’re not sure what will the last color be, but there you go. It seems like the Galaxy Z Fold 2 may ship in this one color option only, but with different hinge color variants.
Each of these color variants is shown in four images, so you can get a really good look at each option. We’ve already seen the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in official renders, but these new renders are quite revealing as well.
Samsung will officially announce the Galaxy Z Fold 2 during an official event soon. Samsung is calling this event ‘Unpacked 2’, and it’s set to take place on September 1, tomorrow.
So, we won’t have to wait long for an official confirmation of these color variants, that’s for sure. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is an improvement over its predecessor in a number of ways.
The device is still made out of metal and glass, but it comes with an improved hinge. That’s not all, though. Its outer display is now much larger, with much thinner bezels around it.
That unseemly notch on the inner display is gone, and it’s replaced with a display camera hole. The outer display also includes one such camera hole, by the way.
The phone will feature a UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) display
The camera setup on the back also looks much cleaner now. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will ship with a UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) display, unlike its predecessor. That display will still have a plastic film on top of it, though.
The phone’s specs actually surfaced before the weekend. It will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865+ SoC in the US and China, while the Exynos 990 will fuel it in Europe and India (if it launches there).
The phone’s inner display will measure 7.6 inches, and it will support 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display will measure 6.2 inches, and we’re looking at a 60Hz display here.
12GB of LPDDR5 RAM will be included, along with 256GB of UFS 3.1 flash storage. Android 10 will come pre-installed on this device, along with Samsung’s custom UI.
