Speck has now announced its own line of protective cases for Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. Each of the new cases features anti-microbial material and coating. But, just as importantly, each supports wireless charging as well. That’s because all of the new cases are a slim-fitting stylish design that lets the curves of the Galaxy Note 20 series shine through.
So anybody looking at protecting their $999+ investment for years to come is going to want to have a look at Speck’s newest offerings.
Presidio2 Pro and Grip give your new Galaxy Note 20 an ‘Armor Cloud’
The two most similar cases on offer from Speck for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G series are the Presidio2 Pro and Presidio2 Grip. Only one of those, the Presidio2 Pro Grip, will be available on both gadgets. But at any rate, the price is just $44.95 across the board for these cases. And, in both instances, both cases offer up to 13-foot drop protection and Presidio2 Armor Cloud technology.
The latter of those two technologies is an innovative feature that utilizes individual pockets of air. Those are effectively sealed between the case and the phone. When the phone — or the case, in this instance — hits the ground, those air capsules flex and expand. The device is cushioned against the blow by that air, similar to how an airbag works according to the company.
As noted above, all of the cases for the new Galaxy Note 20 series from Samsung also support Microban technology. That won’t necessarily keep users safe from any given disease or bug. But it will keep the case they put on their phone from serving as a vector for bacterial growth.
The key difference between Presidio2 Pro and Grip is in their primary purpose. Built solely for the larger Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, Presidio2 Pro features a soft-touch finish in a single color — matte black. So the case looks a bit more professional and is resistant to scratches.
Conversely, Presidio2 Grip is available for both Galaxy Note 20 flagships. It features a dual-tone design available in either white-on-black or blue-on-blue. It’s distinguishing feature is the ridged, no-slip grippy texture. That’s meant to help users not drop the phone, to begin with, despite the 13-foot drop protection.
Speck Presidio Perfect-Clear offers see-through protection at a lower cost
Last but not least, Speck has a new Presidio Perfect-Clear for its line-up of cases. Offering many of the same features as the other two cases here, sans the Armor Cloud, Speck prices Presidio Perfect-Clear at just $39.95. And, of course, it’s distinguishing feature is that it’s clear.
Microban is part of this package too, helping to keep the case protected against bacteria. That, combined with a ‘Perfect-Clear coating’ and a lifetime warranty, helps the case resist discoloration. Anti-yellowing materials assist with that as well. Speck cases in the Presidio Perfect-Clear line-up are available for both the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G.
