Amazon Prime Day Is Set For October 13

After several delays and reschedulings, Amazon has scheduled Prime Day 2020 for October 13.

It’s not official yet, but CNET is reporting that it is happening October 13 and 14. We can also confirm from our sources that Amazon employees have had the week of October 13-20 blacked out for Prime Day. Which is what Amazon typically does for the big shopping days, like Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Amazon will likely officially announce Prime Day in the coming days, as that is less than three weeks away at this point. It could even be announced at its event tomorrow.

What kind of sales can I expect from Prime Day?

Typically, Prime Day lasts for about two days, though many sellers will start their sales early and they last beyond Prime Day.

All of Amazon’s products will be on sale. From the Echos, to the Fire TV, to Fire tablets and everything in between. Typically, this is when we see the lowest prices on its products. So it’s worth it to wait for Prime Day to purchase.

We’ll also see some steep discounts on TVs, robot vacuums, smartphones, and everything in between. Almost everything that Amazon sells will be on sale at some point during Prime Day.

What does an October Prime Day mean?

With Prime Day being later this year than it normally is, thanks to the pandemic, this could result in a lot of people buying their holiday gifts earlier than usual. Most people wait until Black Friday to really start shopping. But with a big event like Prime Day happening in October, the month before, it could help people get their holiday shopping done sooner. That would also relieve a lot of the stress that comes with last minute holiday shopping, and that’s always good.

Prime Day does typically provide a nice boost to retailers that don’t sell on Amazon, as well as other smaller sellers on Amazon.

For the bigger retailers like Best Buy, JCPenny and such, this is going to really help them. Because they typically run their own massive sales alongside Amazon. And where most of them had to close their locations for a majority of the year due to the pandemic, it means that they’ll be able to have a pretty decent Q4. Even before we get to Black Friday in November.

That’s not only good for those retailers but also for the economy as more money being spent means more jobs being saved.
