Arlo announced today, two new additions to the Essential lineup of security cameras. The Essential Camera and Essential Spotlight XL camera.
According to Arlo, “feature-packed Essential series offers wire-free cameras that are as easy to install as they are affordable, providing families with a range of features to they can choose the solution that’s right for their home.” Continuing on by stating that “The Essential XL spotlight camera highlights the collection, enabling continuous security and peace of mind with extended battery life. Perfect for installing in hard to access or busy locations, the Essential XL Spotlight camera offers homeowners up to 12 months of battery on a single charge for added convenience.”
Arlo Essential XL Spotlight
The Arlo Essential XL Spotlight is a powerful spotlight that will turn on when it sees motion or people. It can also be set to manually turn on through the Arlo app.
The new spotlight also features color night vision, in addition to the traditional infrared black and white view.
It also sports a 130-degree field-of-view and captures video in 1080p high definition resolution.
Like other Arlo products, the Essential XL Spotlight is also wire-free and weather resistant. Allowing you to put it outside without worrying about damaging it. It also works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, IFTTT and more.
Arlo Essential Camera
The other camera in this lineup is the Arlo Essential Camera, which drops that integrated light that was found in the Essential Spotlight Camera that Arlo introduced earlier in the year. The reason for removing the light, was to bring the price down further. It is now only $99.99.
It still offers up 1080p video recording, two-way audio, siren capabilities and a 130-degree field-of-view. So it can see your entire front yard if that’s where you decide to place it.
It’s still wire-free and weather resistant, so you can place it outside. It also offers the ability to control it from your voice using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. There is also some great home automation features available with IFTTT for the Arlo Essential Camera.
Pricing & Availability
As already mentioned, the Arlo Essential Camera is going to be available for $99. While the Arlo Essential XL Spotlight Camera is going to be available for $149.99.
The Arlo Essential XL Spotlight Camera is up for pre-orders today from Arlo and vwebsites. Meanwhile the Arlo Essential Camera will be available at Walmart, this holiday season.
