Philips Hue just delivered a huge upgrade to home entertainment
Philips Hue arrived in Berlin at IFA with a big upgrade to its lightstrip. It introduced the Play Gradient Lightstrip, which is made specifically to go on the back of your TV. Instead of made to go on flat surfaces, like underneath your cabinets in the kitchen, or on your desk.
This particular light strip is going to cover three sides of the TV, without there being any gaps from it going around the corners. Like there currently is with the current lightstrip. which is why the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip is worthy of our Best of IFA 2020 award.
Providing a more immersive experience with the Philips Hue HDMI Sync Box
The Philips Hue Sync Box was already really cool. As it plugs into the back of your TV and is able to match the colors from your TV onto the lights that are connected.
However, now that the Play Gradient Lightstrip is multicolored,, it can really sync with the colors on your screen, making it a more immersive experience. Whether used on a TV or on a monitor at your desk.
That’s right, each LED on the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip are now customizable. So instead of being stuck with mostly one or two colors, you can have up to seven different colors on the Play Gradient Lightstrip. Which can make for a really cool experience.
This not only ups the movie night experience, but also makes for a really cool gaming experience too. Particularly with something colorful like Rocket League.
Using brackets to keep it attached to the corners of the TV
Philips Hue also solved a major issue with LED lightstrips on the back of TVs,. Particularly, when you are using them on three sides of the TV. With other lightstrips, the corners wouldn’t really stick and would come off after a few months.
With the Play Gradient Lightstrip, Philips Hue is using brackets to keep it attached in the corners, and also in the middle of each side. It also allows the lightstrip to turn on the left and right side, so it is pointed out, and not straight back against the wall. Providing the more immersive experience we’ve been talking about.
Philips Hue made some pretty minor, yet significant changes with the Play Gradient Lightstrip, and these changes are going to make for a really epic user expernience. Which is why the Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip is being honored with the AndroidHeadlines Best of IFA 2020 award.
