Bose Sleepbuds II With Improved Design Now Available To Pre-order

Bose has just launched a new pair of noise-masking earbuds called Sleepbuds II. These are the successor to the original Sleepbuds, which were discontinued due to battery issues. Apart from using better battery technology, the company also claims the Sleepbuds II to be more comfortable for wearing all night long.

Unlike regular earbuds, the Sleepbuds lack music streaming support and also miss out on the noise-canceling technology. Instead, they play soothing sounds to cover up any disturbing ambient noises while sleeping.

Bose Sleepbuds II now up for pre-order for $250

The updated Bose Sleep App now offers 14 tracks of soothing music and 15 tracks of nature sounds. Moreover, the app is available for free through the Google Play Store and the App Store. Instead of pairing with a smartphone, the users can also store up to 10 tracks on the earbuds.

While the design looks similar to its predecessor, the company made minor tweaks to the earbuds to offer better noise-masking capabilities. Since there is no noise cancellation, the improved design also leads to better passive noise blocking. The second-gen Sleepbuds will be using the tried-and-true nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery technology.

While the earbuds alone will last up to 10 hours on a single charge, the charging case can offer additional 3 charges. Notably, this is lower than the 16-hour battery life of the original Sleepbuds. That being said, it will take around 6 hours for the earbuds to get charged from zero to 100 percent.

Comes with Bluetooth 5.0 for a more stable connection

The earbuds are also IPX4 certified for sweat and water resistance. According to Bose, the earbuds’ anti-friction surface will now avoid making squeaking or rustling noise when they get rubbed against the fabric.

Moreover, the new antenna design along with Bluetooth 5.0 support will also provide a stable connection in any sleeping position. With the earbuds, the company will provide three sizes of silicone ear tips to offer a more secure fit. While the aluminum charging case looks sturdy, the earbuds come with a plastic build.

The Bose Sleepbuds II come with a price tag of $249.95 in the US and are currently available to pre-order. According to the company’s official website, they will begin shipping from October 6. Earlier this month, the company also launched two new pairs of truly wireless earbuds.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds priced at $279 come with noise cancellation support and superior battery life. On the other hand, the $179 Bose Sport Earbuds with the lightweight design are more targeted towards fitness enthusiasts.
