The Huawei FreeBuds Pro are a new pair of TWS earphones Huawei announced yesterday during HDC (Huawei Developers Conference). Those earbuds did arrive at the office recently, and we decided to share our initial impressions, and some hands-on images with the Huawei FreeBuds Pro.

Let’s talk about the case first. It’s wider and shorter than the Huawei FreeBuds 3 case. It is made out of plastic, and we’re looking at glossy plastic here. That is something I never prefer, to be quite honest.
Don’t get me wrong, the case itself doesn’t feel flimsy, or poorly made, not at all. It’s just that it’s a magnet for dirt and fingerprints. I would have preferred a matte finish, but there you have it. The case does feel well-made, though.
Huawei’s logo is placed on the back of the case, while a Type-C port lays at the bottom. There is also a pairing button on the side, same as on the FreeBuds 3 case. This case does support wireless charging, by the way.
So, it’s basically a similar case to the one from the FreeBuds 3, but it comes in a different shape. This one has more of an egg-type-shape, compared to a circular design of the FreeBuds 3 case.
Now, when it comes to earphones themselves, these come with a silicone seal. The earbuds feature silicone ear tips, unlike FreeBuds 3, which are an open-ear type of earphones.
It all depends on your preference to be quite honest. If you prefer open-ear earbuds, these are not for you, if you do not prefer that type, well… you’ll be right at home here. There are three different ear tips in the box, by the way, one on the earbuds, and two additional ones on the side.
That way, you can change them to fit your ears perfectly. Even if you need different attachments, that’s not a problem at all. Swapping them is not an issue whatsoever.
These earbuds have shorter stems than the FreeBuds 3
The earbuds come with shorter stems than the FreeBuds 3. These earbuds do resemble the Apple AirPods Pro earbuds, to a degree. Their stems are kind of box, which is a nice design touch by Huawei.
The earbuds feel really well in the ear, they’re quite light. The default silicone tips worked for my ears, so I didn’t even have to exchange them or anything of the sort.
In terms of sound quality, I haven’t really got the chance to test it properly. I did listen to some music, but not enough for me to talk in-depth about it. I’ll just say that the first impressions are positive, and leave it at that. I’ll be testing these earbuds in the coming weeks, so you can expect a full review to come in the near future.
