Marshall Improves On Its Iconic Headphones In A Major Way

Marshall today announced its latest pair of headphones, the Major IV, and they’ve got some big improvements over the last version.

Rooted in music, Marshall is a brand that prides itself on delivering high-quality audio products and stuffing them with useful features. Like long-lasting battery life, collapsible headphone designs for easy portability, and the ability to share audio with another person.

The new Marshall Major IV headphones are all of these things. Keeping the features that made the Marshall Major III Bluetooth great and improving upon them where needed. They carry mostly the same design, though Marshall did make a few tweaks to give them a slightly updated look.

Marshall Major IV headphones now have wireless charging

While a minimally refreshed design is great, it’s the inside functions that have been added which are going to attract the attention of consumers.

The Major IV add wireless charging (the wireless charging pad isn’t included), something which the Major line has never had before. In fact it’s something that isn’t seen as often with on-ear headphones. Though not necessarily entirely unheard of.

In addition to charging the headphones wirelessly, you can also charge them with the included USB-C cable. As the Major IV sports the same USB-C port for charging like the Monitor II ANC. They also have an included 3.5mm port and cable for turning into a wired pair of headphones when you need to conserve battery life.

You may need to do this less often than you think though. Because the Major IV have a battery life that lasts for over 80 hours. A massive jump over the Major III Bluetooth which only lasted for over 30 hours. Even the charge time has been improved. 15 minutes gets you 15 hours of listening time. Or three hours gets you a full charge.

These also feature the signature control knob that are on just about every pair of headphones in the Marshall lineup.

You can buy the Major IV on October 13

Marshall says the Major IV will go on sale on October 14, but you’ll be able to pre-order them starting today from the Marshall website.

The Major IV also feature an improved ergonomic design. Marshall says this will help the headphones stay comfortable even during longer listening sessions.

The earcups are now softer and more cushioned so they conform to the shape of your ears more. The ears also no longer feature the textured design seen on all of the other pairs of headphones.
