The OnePlus 8T will be lag-free for at least three years, the company’s CEO has hinted on Weibo. The translation from Chinese is not the clearest, but GizmoChina seems to be sure of this.
The OnePlus 8T is expected to remain lag-free for at least three years
The company’s CEO went to Weibo to talk about smoothness. He says that every flagship smartphone should be lag-free for at least three years, and says that the OnePlus 8T will deliver that.
So, you can expect a smooth experience for years to come. OnePlus’ previous smartphones have aged pretty well in that regard, that is something I can attest to based on personal experience. The same will hopefully be the case with the OnePlus 8T.
The OnePlus 8T will be extra smooth due to its 120Hz display, though. That feature has been officially confirmed yesterday, as the OnePlus 8T will have the same refresh rate as the OnePlus 8 Pro.
It will not have the same panel, though. The OnePlus 8T will feature a fullHD+ display, while the OnePlus 8 Pro sports a QHD+ panel. The OnePlus 8T is, actually, reported to feature a 6.5-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display.
A ton of information regarding that phone already surfaced. We do know that it will be made out of metal and glass, and that its bezels will be quite thin. Its display will be flat, while a display camera hole will sit in the top-left corner.
Four cameras will be placed on the back of the device, by the way. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 SoC, and it will arrive in both 8GB and 12GB RAM variants.
The phone will feature four cameras on its back
A 48-megapixel main camera will be backed by a 16-megapixel ultra-wide unit. A 5-megapixel macro camera will also be included on the back, as will a 2-megapixel depth sensor. A single 32-megapixel selfie camera will also be included.
This smartphone will be equipped with a 4,500mAh battery, which will support 65W fast wired charging. We’re still not sure if the device will support wireless charging, but it hasn’t been mentioned just yet.
Android 11 will come pre-installed on this device, along with OxygenOS 11, a new version of the company’s Android skin. Various different price tags have been rumored, so we’ll have to wait and see how much will this phone will end up costing.
One thing worth mentioning is that the ‘Pro’ variant probably won’t launch. OnePlus is going with a single T series smartphone this time around. The company may announce some extra hardware during that event, though. The OnePlus Buds Z have been rumored, and the same goes for the OnePlus Power Bank, and the OnePlus Watch.
