The Samsung Galaxy S21+ will include a larger battery than its predecessor. The device will sport a 4,800mAh battery, it has been confirmed. That battery got certified in both Korea and China.
As part of the certification process, the battery itself got pictured. If you take a look at the image provided below, you’ll see the battery pack that will be included in the upcoming Galaxy S21+.
The Galaxy S21+ will include a larger battery than the S20, it’ll offer 300mAh more capacity
It says right there on the battery that its typical capacity will be 4,800mAh. In comparison with the Galaxy S20+ battery pack, that’s a 300mAh boost. More battery capacity is always a good thing no?
This indicates that the Galaxy S21+ battery capacity will be only 300mAh lower than the one the S21 Ultra will offer. It was reported yesterday that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will ship with a 5,000mAh unit.
The Samsung Galaxy S21+ got listed with the model number EB-BG996ABY (SM-G996). The Galaxy S20, on the other hand, is expected to include a 4,000mAh battery pack.
This certification also confirms that the battery packs will be provided by a Chinese manufacturer. They will come from Ningde Amperex Technology.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 series is not coming anytime soon. These certifications come fairly early, as the device won’t launch until Q1 next year. They will probably arrive in February or March.
Samsung is, once again, expected to launch three Galaxy S21 devices, the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. Nothing has been confirmed just yet, though, so we’ll see.
The upcoming Galaxy S21 series devices will resemble their predecessors
Those three smartphones are likely to resemble the Galaxy S20 series. They are expected to feature display camera holes yet again. Samsung was rumored to utilize under-display camera tech, but several reports denied that.
Under-display camera technology doesn’t seem to be on the level that Samsung wants it to be. Alternatively, perhaps Samsung didn’t have the time to adapt such tech to its phones, or was unable to secure enough sensors.
There are a lot of possible reasons. The Galaxy Note 21 series could arrive with such technology, however. If not, then the Galaxy S22 series almost certainly will.
Smartphone OEMs are expected to step away from display camera holes moving forward. Under-display camera tech has arrived, and we’ll see better and better iterations as time goes by.
The very first smartphone with an under-display camera had already been announced, and it comes from ZTE. It remains to be seen when will Samsung follow.
