The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is right around the corner, and you can watch the company unfold it during its press conference. Samsung will livestream this press conference, and it’s an online-only press event, by the way.
Samsung will livestream this event via YouTube. The official name of the press conference is “Unpacked 2”, as Samsung hosted one such event last month. During that event, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 was shown, and Samsung did talk about its design.
That being said, not all details have been revealed. That event was more focused on the Galaxy Note 20 series, and some other Samsung devices. This event is all about the Galaxy Z Fold 2, it seems.
Samsung will unfold the Galaxy Z Fold 2 later today
The show will start in a couple of hours. To be more specific, you can watch it at 7 AM PST / 10 AM EST / 4 PM CET / 3 PM BST. We’ve embedded the link below the article.
We already know what the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will look like. Thanks to a ton of rumors and leaks, a lot of other details have been revealed already. The phone will be made out of metal and glass.
It will look much sleeker than its predecessor, mainly due to considerably thinner bezels, and no notches. The phone’s outer display will be a lot larger than the one on the Galaxy Fold.
You’ll get a single camera cutout on both its inner and outer displays, by the way. An improved hinge will be included on this phone, and that goes for its internals as well.
The main display on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be around 7.6 inches in diagonal, and it will be a 120Hz panel, if rumors are accurate. The outer display will run at 60Hz, and it will be around 6 inches.
Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC will fuel this handset
The Snapdragon 865 Plus will fuel the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The phone will include 12GB of RAM, it seems, and either 256GB or 512GB of storage, depending on what rumor you opt to believe.
The S Pen stylus will not be included in the package. That feature may arrive with the Galaxy Z Fold 3 next year, but it’s not here this year, for better or worse. The phone will also include a side-facing fingerprint scanner, by the way.
Samsung will offer a number of software features specific to foldable smartphones. Some new ones, that we haven’t seen on the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, may be included.
Android 10 will come pre-installed on the Galaxy Z Fold 2, along with the company’s custom UI, One UI 2.5. Stereo speakers will also be included, and so on. The livestream link is included below.
