Samsung unveiled the Wireless Charger Trio at its virtual Life Unstoppable event earlier this month. Back then, the company hadn’t shared many details about its new wireless charging pad, apart from the fact that it can charge up to three devices at once, which is quite evident from its size and the “Trio” name.
The device has now started to appear on Samsung’s official websites. The company has the new product listed on its South Korea and Germany websites, shedding more light on its specifications and features.
Samsung Wireless Charger Trio specifications
According to the official product listings, the Samsung Wireless Charger Trio features a total of six coils. This allows for more energy, as Samsung promises up to 9W of fast wireless charging through this pad. It supports all Qi-compatible devices with at least 5W charging capabilities.
The device is compatible with a variety of Samsung devices going back to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 series. There’s also a special holder with magnets for charging your Galaxy Watch 3, Watch Active 2, or Galaxy Watch Active.
The Wireless Charger Trio also supports select Apple products with at least 7.5W charging. Those include the Apple iPhone 11, 11 Pro, iPhone SE, iPhone XS, XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus.
The device features an array of LED indicators that show the charging status of your device: a red light for charging, a flashing red light for a charging error, and a green light when your device is fully charged. You can also set the LED indicators to go dim at night time, allowing for comfortable viewing.
However, this function is only available on Samsung’s recent flagship models starting with the Galaxy S10. The device can also be scheduled to turn on or off automatically.
The Wireless Charger Trio can charge your devices through cases up to 3mm thick. Samsung, however, does warn that charging through protective cases may generate more heat and result in a wattage drop, increasing the charging time.
Samsung Wireless Charger Trio price and availability
It’s still unclear when the Wireless Charger Trio will go on sale and how much it’ll cost. However, now that the device is listed on Samsung’s official websites, it should be available for purchase sooner than later. The device comes in black and white colors.
The Wireless Charger Trio has a dimension of 240 x 86 x 15.5 mm and weighs 320 grams. The box comes complete with the pad, a 25W fast charging adapter, and a one-meter long USB Type-C cable.
