Less than a month after launching the Snapdragon 732G mobile platform, Qualcomm is back with a new Snapdragon 7-series chipset. This time, the company launches the Snapdragon 750G 5G mobile platform as a true successor to last year’s Snapdragon 730G chipset.
This octa-core chipset is built on Samsung’s 8nm LPP process. It comes equipped with the Snapdragon X52 5G modem with support for both sub-6GHz and mmWave frequencies, which the company claims make the Snapdragon 750G a truly global 5G chipset.

It is key for markets where some carriers are relying entirely on mmWave technology to build their 5G network. The Snapdragon X52 is capable of offering up to 3.7 Gbps download speeds and up to 1.6 Gbps upload speeds. Additionally, the Snapdragon 750G also supports multi-SIM along with standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes.
The new Kryo 570 CPU on this chipset comes packed with 2x Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. In terms of graphics performance, the Adreno 619 GPU will deliver up to 10 percent better graphics rendering compared to the Snapdragon 730G’s Adreno 618 GPU.
Like the recently launched Snapdragon 690, the new Snapdragon 750G also comes with dual Spectra 355L ISP. The chipset will support up to 32MP + 16MP dual-camera setup with Zero Shutter Lag and 4K HDR video recording.
The 5th-gen Qualcomm AI Engine, with up to 4 Trillion Operations per Second (TOPS), is said to bring a 20 percent boost in the AI performance. It will enable AI-based features like voice translation, smart camera and video modes, AI-enhanced gaming, and more.

Qualcomm also mentioned offering a few Snapdragon Elite gaming features like HDR gaming, updatable GPU drivers, and HDR fast blend. Moreover, the chipset also includes the Qualcomm Sensing Hub. It will enable multiple voice assistants and brings AI-based echo and background noise cancellation.
It will support up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM with a peak frequency of 2133MHz. On the connectivity front, it comes with dual-frequency GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. It also supports Full HD+ display resolution with HDR10+ and 120Hz high refresh rate.
The chipset includes Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology for charging smartphones up to 50 percent in just 15 minutes. Apart from boosting several similarities, the Snapdragon 750G is also pin-compatible with the Snapdragon 690. This makes it easier for the manufacturers for the upgrading the chipset for specific markets.
The Snapdragon 750G-powered smartphones will hit the market in Q4 2020. Xiaomi claims to be the first smartphone brand to introduce this new 7-series chipset. As of now, there are no more details revealed about this new device.
