Xiaomi has announced a brand new series of smartphones, the Mi 10T devices. The company actually announced three devices as part of this, but only two of them are flagship-grade. Those two devices are the Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro.
The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite is the third phone the company announced, and that is a more budget-oriented smartphone. In this article, we’ll talk about the Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro only. You can read more about the Mi 10T Lite by clicking here.
Xiaomi Mi 10T & Mi 10T Pro are extremely similar in the spec department
The Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro are made out of metal and glass. These two phones look basically the same. If you really do look for minor differences, you’ll notice a slight physical difference on the rear camera sensors.
The Two devices feature flat displays, with thin bezels. The thickest bezel is the one below the display. A display camera hole sits in the top-left corner of the display. The back side is curved on both phones, but only towards the sides.
Both devices feature three cameras on the back, and all of them are a part of the same camera module. That module is placed in the top-left corner. Those cameras are not the same, though, hence the physical difference. We’ll talk about that in a second. Both of these displays have a side-facing fingerprint scanner, by the way, which doubles as a power key.
Both phones have the same display. You’ll find a 6.67-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) TrueColor DotDisplay on both phones. This is a 144Hz LCD display, by the way, and it’s flat. It does support HDR10. That panel is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 (which is also used on the back).
The Snapdragon 865 fuels these two devices, while both phones include a 5,000mAh battery. That battery does support 33W fast wired charging. Wireless charging is not included.
Face Unlock is supported via the front-facing camera, while both devices have a 20-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.2 aperture, 77.7-degree FoV). 5G is supported, as is WiFi 6. Both phones also include an IR blaster, an NFC, and two SIM card slots.
Stereo speakers are included, along with a Hi-Res Audio certification. X-axis linear vibration motor can also be found in both devices. Those were the similarities, let’s now talk about the spec differences.
There are some differences, though
The Xiaomi Mi 10 comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, both of which includes 128GB of storage. The Mi 10 Pro, on the other hand, comes in two 8GB variants, which includes 128GB and 256GB of storage.
The main camera is also different on these two phones. The Xiaomi Mi 10 comes with a 64-megapixel unit (f/1.89 aperture, 6P lens, 79.8-degree FoV, 1.6um 4-in-1 super pixel). The Mi 10T Pro features a 108-megapixel camera (f/1.69 aperture, 7P lens, 82-degree FoV, 1.6um 4-in-1 Super Pixel with OIS).
The other two cameras are the same. A 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera (123-degree FoV, f/2.4 aperture) can be found on both devices. A third camera is a 5-megapixel macro unit (f/2.4 aperture, AF 2-10cm).
The two phones have the same measurements, but they don’t weigh the same, though. Both phones measure 165.1 x 76.4 x 9.33mm, but the Mi 10T Pro is a bit heavier. It weighs 218 grams, compared to 216 grams, and that’s a negligible difference. These two phones are not lightweight, that’s for sure.
The Xiaomi Mi 10T comes in Cosmic Black and Lunar Silver colors. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro comes in those colors as well, with the addition of the Aurora Blue variant. The Xiaomi Mi 10T’s 6GB and 8GB RAM variants are priced at €499 and €549, respectively. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro’s 8GB RAM models with 128GB and 256GB of storage are priced at €599 and €649, respectively. The devices will be available globally, soon.
