YouTube Revamps Its User Interface For Android TV & Fire TV

Google has been quite busy rolling out some featureful updates for its apps. And now YouTube joins the list as a report by 9To5Google confirms a new interface for Android TV and Fire TV.

Notably, YouTube has a pretty neat user interface across Android TV platforms. However, over the past week, a new UI is rolling out for the users.

In fact, the new user interface is already live for many users. This new YouTube UI is rolling out for Android TV, Fire TV, and other platforms as well.

One thing to keep in mind is that there is no separate update for this new YouTube UI. It is rolling out as a server-side update, meaning that users do not need to do anything. Google will handle itself.

Apart from the Android TV users, Fire TV users have also reported the arrival of the new revamped YouTube UI for them. The key change is emphasized in viewing more video content.

Note that the previous interface had a pretty neat UI, but it sort of covered up half of the video when the seek bar was accessed. Besides, it was the seek bar itself which covered the video.

This new YouTube UI brings in the new clean and sleek seek bar

Instead of the large seek bar, now with the new YouTube UI change, there is a new clean and sleek seek bar. Notably, the title is now smaller and is located at the top of the screen.

So, the text of the video does not botch down on top of the seek bar. The underflow button that includes other buttons or options, for instance, like/dislike, report, quality, and others are cleaned up.

These buttons are now hidden. Moreover, the buttons are now smaller and more minimal. On top of this, the new YouTube UI gets rid of the play/pause and skip buttons completely.

Now, you will only see a clean seek bar with the horizontal list of recommended videos. Seems like Google has taken a clean look and it is good to see that Android TV apps also receiving some renovation.

The changes on the Fire TV are identical to what you would see on Android TV and vice versa. Though YouTube has seen some UI changes in the past, this one is cleaner.

Other platforms are also expected to go through the UI changes. However, there is no official word on this, So, we have to keep a track on that. As far as this new look is concerned, it is already available for the users.
