Google’s “Launch Night In” event is done and dusted in under 30 minutes. In that short period of time, the company has unveiled two 5G Pixel smartphones, an all-new Chromecast with Google TV, and a Nest Audio smart speaker.
Now, Google has published a whole bunch of promo videos on its “Made by Google” YouTube channel explaining key features of all the newly announced products.
Google’s Launch Night In (2020) Event – Promo Videos
First and foremost, let’s talk about the new Pixel smartphones. In the first video, which fits to be a proper television commercial, Google is promoting the speedy performance of the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones. The video doesn’t just limit the speed of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
It also showcases the super-fast mobile internet speeds, thanks to the 5G support. In the end, the video also reminds the affordable price tag of these new 5G Pixel smartphones. In the US, the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 are priced at $499 and $699 respectively.
The next video is all about the device aesthetics and color options. Apart from the rounded corners and curved edges, it also showcases the contrast-colored power button. The OLED display with minimal bezels and the hole-punch camera cut out is also visible.
Unlike other high-end smartphones available in the market, these new Pixel smartphones come with a plastic body. While the Pixel 4a 5G comes in Just Black and Clearly White colors, the Pixel 5 will be available in Just Black and Sorta Sage color options.
Here is the new smart speaker from Google
The video featuring the Nest Audio smart speaker is entirely about its design and color variants. It will come in many color options — Chalk, Charcoal, Sage, Sand, and Sky. According to Google, the fabric used for the enclosure is made of 70 percent recycled plastic. Furthermore, the company also optimized the grille and materials for better acoustics.
Coming up next is the video introducing the all-new Google TV. The newly launched Chromecast will be coming with this new Google TV skin on top of Android TV OS. However, it is completely different from the Google Play Movies & TV app which is now renamed to Google TV.
Speaking of Google TV on the new Chromecast, it now looks more like the UI of Amazon’s Fire TV OS. The company is integrating all the OTT platforms and YouTube TV into the search powered by Google Assistant. As of now, the Google TV UI is kind of exclusive to the new Chromecast.
Finally, there is a wrap-up video of just 87 seconds duration to give you a complete glimpse of what happened during the “Launch Night In” event.
