The OnePlus 8T Pro is not coming because the 8 Pro exists, pretty much. That statement may sound odd, but that’s basically the reason why OnePlus opted not to bring us the 8T Pro.
As most of you know, OnePlus has confirmed that the 8T is coming all alone, without the ‘Pro’ model. Well, the company’s CEO, Pete Lau, confirmed that the 8 Pro is the reason for that.
The OnePlus 8 Pro is the reason why the 8T Pro is not coming
The company’s CEO went to Twitter to confirm it. He says that the OnePlus 8 Pro is still one of the best in its class. Mr. Lau continued to list some of the phone’s specs, such as a 120Hz QHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865, and so on.
He also said that the OnePlus 8T is “something else, and maybe more than you think”. Mr. Lau also invited people to tune in to the company’s press event on October 14. That will be an online-only event.
During the event, OnePlus is planning to announce the OnePlus 8T. That won’t be the only device to arrive, though. The company will allegedly release (at least) five devices.
We’ve seen a lot of rumors lately, and we can guess at least a couple of those devices. The OnePlus Buds Z is a given at this point. The company already teased its second pair of TWS earbuds.
Those earbuds will be more affordable than the OnePlus Buds. They will also be closed-ear type earbuds, as they will ship with a silicone tip / seal. The OnePlus Buds, as most of you know, are of the open-ear variety.
The very first OnePlus Watch may launch on October 14
The OnePlus Watch has also been rumored. If it arrives, it will become the company’s very first smartwatch. That device is rumored to offer a round body and display, and it will ship with Wear OS, almost certainly.
OnePlus will do its thing with the software, though, similar to what OPPO did with the OPPO Watch. The OPPO Watch actually turned out to be a very good watch, so… we have high hopes for the OnePlus Watch.
The OnePlus Power Bank has also been rumored lately, though we’re not sure if it will launch or not. We’re not really sure what else will the company announce, unless it opts to release some phones as well.
The company teased the arrival of additional OnePlus Nord smartphones, as it seems like phones with Snapdragon 600 and 400 series chips are coming. Those devices may launch during a separate event, though.
There’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to OnePlus, that’s for sure. The company October 14 event will be quite interesting, so stay tuned.
