OnePlus is all set to unveil its next flagship – the OnePlus 8T – next week, on October 14th. While the internet is abuzz with rumors and anticipations about this device, the company also has a couple of audio products in the pipeline. It has been teasing the OnePlus Buds Z TWS earphones lately.
Now a new report reveals that OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition, a more affordable neckband solution, is also coming alongside the two flagship products. It appears to be a special edition of the existing OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earphones. The report also reveals some of the key specifications of both the OnePlus Buds Z and the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition.
OnePlus Buds Z specifications
OnePlus has already confirmed that its upcoming TWS earphones will feature an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance. Official teasers have also revealed the design of the OnePlus Buds Z. Featuring a long stem and silicone ear tips, the new pair of earphones don’t look too dissimilar from the original Buds. OnePlus has also confirmed each earbud to weigh 4.35 grams.
Now the latest bit of information around the buds is that they’ll pack 10mm drivers instead of 13.4mm drivers found in their predecessors. They will have Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity and dual microphones and will come with passive noise cancellation. The OnePlus Buds Z will reportedly feature sound optimization from Dirac Audio Tuner and Dolby Atmos.
The new buds are also inferior to their predecessors in terms of battery life. Each bud will have five hours of run time on a single charge. The case offers an additional 15 hours of battery life, totaling to 20 hours of usage on a single charge. To recall, the OnePlus Buds are rated to last up to 30 hours on a single charge, with each bud lasting for up to seven hours.
The OnePlus Buds Z will support fast charging, adding three hours’ worth of playtime in just about ten minutes of charge. The report adds that the new pair will be more affordable than the original version, that launched at $79.
OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition specifications
As the name suggests, this will be a bass-heavy variant of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z. Most of the internal components, including drivers, magnetic control, and the battery will reportedly remain unchanged. So we’re getting a 9.2 mm driver, Bluetooth v5.0, and a battery that can charge quickly to deliver up to ten hours of playtime with just ten minutes of charge.
However, the overall battery life will come down to 17 hours from 20 hours, possibly because of the bass-related tweaks. There’s no word yet about the pricing of the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z Bass Edition. The standard variant launched at $49.95, though it’s now selling for far less than that. Expect the new variant to come with a similar price tag.
