OnePlus Teases IP55-Rated Buds & OnePlus 8T With Ultra-Wide Camera

OnePlus is all set to launch its OnePlus 8T smartphone next week via a virtual event. Apart from the existence of an ultra-wide camera on the OnePlus 8T, the latest tweets from OnePlus also confirmed the launch of the IP55-rated Buds on October 14.

The video posted on Twitter showcases the device with a punch-hole camera, as well as the text “Lights, Camera, Ultra.” As seen on the OnePlus Nord, the upcoming OnePlus 8T might also sport a dual front camera setup featuring an additional ultra-wide camera.

OnePlus 8T to sport an ultra-wide selfie camera?

However, none of the leaked OnePlus 8T images featured dual selfie cameras on the front. Even the renders from the official website include a single camera cut-out in the top left corner of the display. The OnePlus Nord features a 32-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide secondary camera.

As of now, there is no confirmation regarding the dual selfie cameras on the OnePlus 8T. Instead, the company may have been teasing about a huge upgrade to the ultra-wide-angle camera on the rear of the device. Coming to the new earbuds, these will be the company’s second pair of TWS earbuds.

OnePlus confirmed to launch new TWS earbuds on October 14

During the OnePlus Nord launch event in July, OnePlus launched its first-ever TWS earbuds called OnePlus Buds. Based on the rumors, the upcoming “IP55-rated Buds” could launch as OnePlus Buds Z.

Compared to the IPX4 protection on the original OnePlus Buds, these new Buds are IP55 certified for much better resistance to water and dust. As seen with the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, the upcoming OnePlus Buds Z may cost a lot less than its predecessor. FYI, the original OnePlus Buds launched earlier this year came with a price tag of $79.

Apart from the IP rating, the company hasn’t revealed anything else about these upcoming TWS earbuds. Looks like you need to wait one more week to find out the complete details. Meanwhile, the company has confirmed several key specifications of the OnePlus 8T smartphone.

It will be the first OnePlus smartphone to come with the all-new Warp Charge 65. With 65W fast charging technology, the 4,500mAh battery of the OnePlus 8T can be fully charged in just 39 minutes.

Though it sports a flat panel display like the OnePlus 8, the new OnePlus 8T will support a 120Hz high refresh rate, which is a nice boost to the non-Pro Oneplus smartphone. Under the hood, it comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 mobile platform.

The quad-camera setup on the rear is rumored to feature a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth camera.
