Motorola One 5G is not a new smartphone but it will be for the Verizon customers. Because the carrier has made the Motorola One 5G UW available for purchase and that too with Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband support.
One thing to note here is that Verizon Motorola One 5G UW customer would have to pay $100 extra than AT&T. For the unaware, AT&T has priced the device at $444.99. But the AT&T phone only has sub-6GHz.
The $500 price tag for the Verizon Motorola One 5G UW is because of the fact that it will support Verizon’s 5G ultra-wideband and nationwide capability. The UW moniker attached to the name confirms mmWave 5G support.
Notably, this will allow the Verizon Motorola One 5G UW customers to download any file 25x faster than 4G LTE. However, users should note that 5G Ultra Wideband available only in select regions.
So, in order to experience this high-speed connectivity speeds, Verizon Motorola One 5G UW users should make sure they are residing in the 5G ultra-wideband capable area.
The Motorola One 5G went live for purchase on Verizon starting October 15. It is available for $500 or $22.91 per month for 24 months. And it is live for purchase from the Verizonwireless.com and in the My Verizon app.
Verizon Motorola One 5G comes with Snapdragon 765G and a 90Hz display
For the 5G support, the Motorola One 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and is coupled with 4GB of RAM. Besides, it offers 128GB of onboard storage.
Moreover, the phone has a 6.7-inch CinemaVision HD+ 90Hz display. Talking about the cameras, it has a quad-camera setup with a 48MP primary lens. Under the hood, the phone is juiced by a 5,000 mAh battery.
With the Motorola One 5G, users can charge their phones at high-speeds with the included TurboPower charger in the retail box.
Additionally, new and existing Verizon customers can also pick up the device with Verizon’s Do More, Play More or Get More Unlimited plans to make the most of the 5G support.
With the Verizon’s Do More, Play More, or Get More Unlimited plan, users will get up to $550. This is provided towards a purchase with a trade-in of a qualifying smartphone. Note that the discounts will be applied via 24 billing credits monthly.
Basically, all the UW branded Verizon phones cost more than the non-UW branded devices. And the difference is, at the most, $50.
But for the Motorola One 5G UW, Verizon has hiked the price by $100. Which is almost 23% of the original price of the phone.
Ultimately, it is a matter of choice whether the user is okay paying a premium for using 5G service or not.
