Xiaomi Becoming Greener, While Keeping The Charger

Xiaomi is becoming greener to help the environment, while keeping the charger in its packaging. The company has announced that its retail boxes will contain less plastic waste, about 60-percent less.

Xiaomi becoming greener, but it won’t lose the charger as part of the initiative

That’s quite a considerable amount. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite retail box is the first to deliver this, starting in Europe. The company announced this information on Twitter, while sharing the contents of the retail box.

The charger is not going anywhere, though, it’s still a part of the retail box. As most of you know by now, Apple removed the charger from the iPhone 12 retail box altogether.

Now, the aforementioned Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite is priced at only €250 in Europe, by the way. That goes for the 6GB RAM / 64GB storage variant. The phone is available starting today in a number of European countries.

Considering the phone’s spec sheet, that price tag is more than fair. The phone not only comes with the Snapdragon 750 with 5G support, but it also offers a 120Hz display. A large battery is included, along with 33W fast wired charging.

The phone includes a plastic frame, with glass on the front and back. The bezels are also quite thin, while it offers stereo speakers, and a 64-megapixel main camera. You can read more about the phone by clicking here.

Let’s hope more companies will reduce plastic waste

We’re hoping that more companies will push towards reducing plastic waste. We should all become greener in order to help the planet before we reach the point of no return.

Xiaomi did not mention it will do the same with all of its upcoming devices, but we’re expecting that will be the case. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite is only the very first phone from the company to reduce plastic waste by 60-percent. We’re hoping for more such initiatives from Xiaomi, and a number of other smartphone manufacturers moving forward.
