YouTube Music Free Users Can Now Cast Uploaded Songs To Smart Speakers

Well, it seems like 9to5Google’s APK insight was right. Because as per a new report, free YouTube Music users can now cast uploaded songs to their smart speakers.

To give you some context on what we are talking about, we reported back in September a post highlighting that a new set of codes were spotted revealing this new feature.

Notably, the new strings of codes highlighted this new feature which would enable the users to cast their music to smart speakers. And it was available for free users.

And now a recent report from Ars Technica, this new casting feature is now live for all the free users of the YouTube Music app. Call it another way of luring Play Music users over to YouTube Music.

Moreover, you can now cast your own uploaded songs to your smart speakers on the YouTube Music app. Apparently, this was one of the best-selling features of Google Play Music.

And it is finally arriving on the YouTube Music app. This is pretty advantageous when you have bought songs from different sources and listen to them on your smart speakers.

Google Play Music users can transfer their uploaded songs to YouTube Music

It is a no hidden fact that the transition from Google Play Music to YouTube Music has been made as smooth as possible by the Mountain View giant.

Besides, users can now transfer their Google Play Music files over to YouTube Music and play them on their smart speakers using this new feature.

Earlier, this was not possible for the free users to cast their uploaded songs. In fact, in order to use this feature, you need to have a paid subscription.

However, now, free users can simply use this feature via the YouTube Music app. The smart speakers will show up on the Cast devices list, irrespective of whether you are a free user or premium member.

But note that if you are trying to cast one of YouTube Music’s albums/playlists, then you will be told that you can cast uploaded music for free.

Likewise, there will be a tracklist that would include all of your YouTube Music tracks and uploaded ones. You will be given a warning that all the YouTube Music tracks will be removed from the queue if you want to cast music.

The cast YouTube Music feature works without any hiccups and gives you all the controls as you would expect. Moreover, the feature started rolling out recently, so it might take some time to arrive for all the users.
