Recently, a new Motorola smartphone with model number XT-2117 has been certified by the FCC. According to the famed leakster OnLeaks, it might officially debut as the Moto G10 Play. This new budget smartphone from Motorola will be the successor to the Moto G9 Play, which went on sale in August this year.
As of now, there is no official confirmation from the company about the launch of this device. The Moto G10 Play will be officially unveiled in the next few weeks, as per the source. While the device measures 165.3 x 75.4 x 9.5mm, the thickness at the camera bump goes up to 10.4mm.
Here’s your first look at the upcoming Moto G10 Play
On the front, the device sports a 6.5-inch display with a punch-hole camera cut-out on the top left corner. Though the device gets a modern look, it might continue to feature only a 720p display. Considering it to be a budget smartphone, there is not much to complain about the noticeable bezels on the top and bottom of the display.
Another significant change in the Moto G10 Play design is the removal of the rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint scanner now comes embedded into the power button on the right side. Motorola also got rid of the dedicated physical button for the Google Assistant.
Just like its predecessor, the upcoming Moto G10 Play also comes with a triple camera setup on the rear. However, the company changed the placement of the LED flash from the top right to the bottom left position. Just below the rear camera module is the Motorola logo.
Comes packed with a 5,000mAh battery
The FCC certification confirmed the device to support 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. Whereas the TÜV Rheinland certification revealed the battery capacity to be 4,850mAh. While the 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the top, the USB Type-C port and speaker grille are placed on the bottom edge.
Even the previously launched Motorola smartphones with 5,000mAh battery were mentioned to have 4,850mAh rated battery capacity. The device seems to come with a glossy finish polycarbonate body, which can easily attract fingerprints and smudges.
While Google has officially released Android 11, this new device might still launch with the last year’s Android 10 out of the box. Once the Moto G10 Play goes official, the company might also launch other devices in the Moto G10 lineup soon. There should be more information popping up soon about this upcoming Motorola smartphone.
