Lenovo-owned Motorola is working on its second-generation foldable, the Motorola RAZR 2. Some fresh details on Twitter hint that the Motorola RAZR 2 will be the same size as its predecessor.
This piece of information comes from Display Analyst Ross Young via a tweet. According to Young, the RAZR 2 would be similar to previous-gen RAZR phones when it comes to the size of the display.
Motorola is expected to keep the same panel size of 6.2-inches for the RAZR 2. Moreover, the size of the external display on the Motorola RAZR 2 would also be the same as the first-generation product.
Young, however, did not provide any information about other specs. The fact that very little is known about the Motorola RAZR 2 shows that the phone may take a long time to come out.
Back in 2019, Motorola launched the first-gen Motorola RAZR phone. The phone had all the design elements of the iconic Razr phone launched in the 2000s. Sadly, it was not a flagship device and came with a mid-range chipset.
About a year later, Motorola launched a new edition for it, called the Motorola RAZR 5G. The phone came with some improvements and now had the support for the next-gen data connection.
First-gen Motorola RAZR could not be a smash hit because of its premium price
Although the first foldable Motorola RAZR brought back all the fond memories of the icon Razr phone, it could not stir the market, thanks to its premium price tag.
The specifications of the phone also did not justify the price tag of $1,500. Fast forward to now, the latest leaks suggest that we could have a similar form factor for the second-gen Motorola RAZR as well.
Where that leave us then? Apparently, we could see a bump in the internals of the phone. Including a flagship processor, better camera, extended storage, etc.
But for that, we will have to wait, as not much has been leaked about the device so far. We are yet to have details about the specifications, release date, and availability of the smartphone.
Taking an educated guess here, we could definitely see some improvements in the internal specifications of the phone. Because as per the latest leak about the display, it will be 6.2-inches for the primary screen and 2.7-inches for the secondary. So, we will be seeing a similar form factor.
We hope Motorola brings some improvements in the design and differentiates it from its predecessors, the Motorola Razr 2019 and the Motorola Razr 5G.
Next Razr, Razr 2, will not grow in size as previously expected. They are keeping the same panel size of 6.2".
